“This company - at best could be described as charlatans! They use brute force instead of tact with their tenants. They do not employ any kind of professionalism and incur error after error in their transactions. Indeed, I am still in possession of a document on which the balance grows when a payment is made to them, instead of decreasing. A mistake I had to point out to them at length before which they had to grudgingly admit and amend accordingly.
Additionally, I remember their bullying tactics at the front door, usually conducted when my presence was not expected and my then partner could be induced to accede to their demands.
They receive public land to build houses to sell and rent to local tenants, the latter to whom they royally overcharge on said. Not unexpected of a private landlord today, being quite certain of other such entities charging a great deal more.
No, this is more of a warning to the unwary of their despicable practices against council tenants. The sending of Sheriffs Officer to your workplace when you owe nothing, whom toss enveloped documentation at your head and run away. Badly trained (or excellently dependant on your point of view) Housing Officers whom offer no succour in trying times (I cite obviously UC) such as the five week delay. Their attendees threaten, bewilder and generally place their transgressing tenants in acute fear of legal action, courts and ultimate eviction when the fault does not lie with the tenant. Citing legislation which envisages nowhere to be housed thereafter.
In short, for most tenants (council in particular) without great inner fortitude, understanding of legalities and eventual outcomes they incite fear, stress and inevitably the worst of outcomes.
They invent charges to further encumber you later when you wish to apply for housing with the council. Their modus operandi to make the innocent pay for their multitudinous accounting errors when said innocent has the audacity to fall back within their reaches through the Search programme and its dubious alliances - generally legal but highly immoral.
Effectively, CHAssoc are found to be wanting, offering no access to their complaint compliance procedures, affecting personal insult while trying to conduct grievances with their staff. Offering a complete inability to effect any progressive dialogue between parties. Providing no help, understanding or empathy of any kind whatsoever.
Cunninghame Housing Association exist primarily, in my not unconsidered opinion, and solely for the engagement of profit behind the mantle of ..... "... look what we are doing for the community" while un-classing and dispossessing those whom have nothing to be dispossessed of. Their dignity, at this stage, long since departed.
Where I understand it is difficult (at best) to challenge inequity in today's modern corporate practices, CHA make it impossible.”
