Ordered on 30th September, now 10th October, no reeds and no response to 2 chase up emails . How long does it take to send 2 small oboe reeds . Will be contacting my card company tomorrow to request a cancellation, the bank can then chase the Crooks at Crook and Staoles .

Ordered two items both not received. Now months late. Company not replying to emails or phone. Never ‘office hours’ even when ringing at eg 10.00am. Email always says ‘we are taking a break’ with a return date that keeps moving. Was reputable once but not now

Horrible service. I couldn’t receive my order and any answer for my question and missing item. I ordered a bassoon reed on 4th Jin and it still hadn't. I did have a reply to 1st email asking where my order was, which just asked my address and then have heard nothing since despite several more emails. Scam

My first couple of orders with them were perfect and I was happy to continue doing business with them up until out of the blue they just created an order in my name which I never authorized, then charged me for that order and went dark. I tried to contact them for about a month via their chat, emails and even phone calls, but they never replied. Finally I had to dispute the transaction and cancel my credit card just to prevent this kind of charges in future. What a hassle. I guess Crook and Staple don't like to have good paying customers...

I made my order for some oboe reeds and was informed that one reed was a special order and would take 14 days to post. Nearly 4 weeks later I had heard nothing, so emailed and got no reply. Tried again a week later, and a week after that - still nothing. I then emailed to really complain and ask for a refund which was duly paid, but still no communication or apology or explanation. Absolutely dreadful service and I will never use this company again. Shame.

Order No: S20822 for a Bassoon strap. I mistakenly placed an order for a Large but immediately sent them an order to change this to a Medium. I followed up with another email. Neither were acknowledged. The strap came in today with as a Large. Pretty much non responsive. The phone number is only for a local UK line, yet they tout themselves as an international business. Hence, they are pretty much uncontactable. :( Sorry, cheap products but cheaper service. Go elsewhere.

There is a reason that the first word in their company name is "Crook" because that's what they are. I ordered a simple instrument tag for my daughter 3 weeks ago and it still hasn't arrived. The only reason I didn't order elsewhere was because they only seem to come in packages of 20-100 and I just needed one! The shipping was actually more than the tag. I tried to contact them and could only get an automated response via email. I am glad that it is not a large purchase and the only reason I am writing this review is to let you know DO NOT ORDER FROM CROOK AND STAPLE!! Unless you want to give your money away.

An oboe reed I ordered in May arrived broken due to terrible packaging. It is now almost August and I am STILL awaiting a refund. Crook & Staple can't package things but they can lie well about allegedly sending refunds. They have NOT refunded me and I am appalled. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy from this company.

First time order which was messed up. One item was an incorrect item, one item was missing and they charged me a different higher amount than invoiced. Contacted them but haven't heard back yet. Not used to such poor service from a double reed company. I recommend you stay away and shop else where.

Ordered an oboe reed and a couple of other bits and pieces which when they eventually arrived (VERY slow to send the items), the reed was broken. This was due to the careless way it was packaged, I've never seen such a lack of care around packaging with a delicate oboe reed before. I contacted the company who are appalling when it comes to communication, and I mean really appalling. They NEVER answer the phone, they ignore your answerphone messages if you leave them, they seemingly ignore most emails as well. Eventually I got a reply to my request for a refund and was told this would be done. Here I am, THREE WEEKS later, still no refund. This company is an absolute joke - folks if you want oboe reeds that are packaged beautifully and arrive in a day or so, use Regency Reeds. That's where my custom will be staying from now on.

I ordered a cor anglais reed 3 weeks ago but am still waiting for delivery. I have emailed several times but have had no reply and still no reed! Customer service is none existent so I have since ordered from another reed maker and now asked for a refund from C&S. I think they've missed a trick here as my usual reed maker no longer trades so I was looking for a new one who would be guaranteed a regular orders had the reed been any good (read good reviews via their website hence why I placed an order). Needless to say I won't be dealing with this "business" again as I will now need to contact my bank in order to get my money back.

I ordered two reed cases and a magnetic water pot from Crook and Staple on 1/2/22. The cases arrived but the water pot I had paid for was not included in the parcel. I have rung twice and left messages, emailed twice and filled in messages through the automated help service, the only response bring through the automated service where they asked me to confirm my shipping address. This was on 22/3. Since I replied to that...although I had provided my details and the order number previously, nothing!!! I've used this company many times before with no issues but the customer service this time has been useless unfortunately.

Worst online shopping experience I've ever had. DO NOT USE THIS SHOP, however nice their website looks! Royal Mail delivered my parcel to the wrong address and it subsequently couldn't be found. This happened during Covid and several of my neighbours were affected by similar issues. I contacted Royal Mail who told me that there had been problems in my area and that the sender, i.e. the shop, needs to report the item as lost so that I can be refunded. However, Crook and Staple refused to cooperate and I had to get legal advice and get my bank involved, who eventually refunded me. The whole process took over two months! My neighbours all got their refunds within days but I was unlucky enough to have entered a contract with Crook and Staples. Do not make the same mistake! The owner is extremely rude and has no clue how to deal with customers and no idea of contract law, which is worrying. Overall, an experience I don't wish on anybody. Don't do this to yourself!

Tried to place an online order 5 times using multiple cards but there was a problem at the checkout and our card was debited twice but no order acknowledgment and no goods. We tried to contact Crook and Staple via the webchat, email and telephone but so far no response. We ended up having to contact our credit card provider to cancel the payments. We still would have like to order the item by phone but they don’t answer the phone nor reply to messages. Distinct lack of customer service which I wouldn’t have thought they could afford in these times-does this place even have a business premises or shop?

My recent experience was unfortunately very unpleasant. The products are as good as you can buy in any other shop, but based on their customer service response time and friendliness I would not recommend to use this online shop.

My comments must necessarily be a little limited as I am only a part-time double reed player, spending most of my playing time on other instruments, but I find Crook and Staple products reasonably priced and the staff are very helpful with advice.
