“Product is fine but I would prefer the stronger dose”

“Prices of products are ridiculous. Who is going to pay up to £5 for shave gel etc when it’s a quid in the shops? Razor is ok I guess, Though the red cap is annoying as it keeps coming apart! Frequency of razor sales needs to be £14 every 6 months. Stockpiling razors so will probably cancel soon. £14 is still a ridiculous price for razors! Not sure if there’s really much of a saving over Gillette products in the long run.”

Yes you are right, there are shave gel products on the high street for less than what we offer but our prices reflect our high quality. Our members are happy to pay the premium for high quality products and to save them the hassle having to get themselves to the high street and shop around. “Very good products with excellent service. I do think think the chrome on the razor is too shiny which makes the razor hard to control with wet hands.”

A few other members have been in touch with reports similar to yours, and after listening to their feedback we've modified the handle, adding a crosshatch pattern to points on the surface of the metal which will improve grip when shaving - do get in touch at help@cornerstone.co.uk if you'd like to know more :-)

“Blades are good and I would like to buy one of the wash bags for myself and a friend but they are too expensive, apart from that all is good”

Thanks for taking the time to leave us feedback - it's great that you were pleased with our blades. It's a shame that you weren't happy with the price of our wash bags though. As these are a premium item, handmade from buffalo leather we unfortunately aren't able to offer them at a lower price. That said, we do run temporary offers on these from time to time, so if you are signed up to our promotional mailing list, do keep an eye out for those from our marketing team! “blades are OK- handle is difficult though & slippy when wet- not ideal when scraping a sharp implement against my face It needs re designing as it has no grip, its too smooth”

“Nice looking razors but too chunky for me, difficult to keep hold of when wet (I'm a woman shaving legs etc) and blades don't cut as well as others. Won't be continuing with subscription.”

“Designed using good quality hardware, however the shave was just average, my gillete+ razor is slightly better in my opinion. I noticed the cornerstone razor did not manage to shave as clean as it left a few hairs afloat. I probably will not be placing any future orders as i wasn’t impressed to make me change over from my gillete razor.”

We know some of our members have commented that their experience improves after they get used to the angle of the blades and the design of the handle, so do keep that in mind. “Nice packaging and the buying experience is good but in the end so far the razor itself doesn't seem any better than my previous regular Gillette. The shave foam is OK as is the after-shave balm. What it will come down to is price: these products are not worth paying extra for imho so I'll see how they compare on price. Cheers.”

I'm happy to hear that you're a fan of our packaging and the ordering process :-) I'm sorry you feel our products are too expensive - we have worked hard to offer a premium product at a high street price. Our pack of six blades is priced at £14 - as delivery is free this brings each razor head to £2.33 which is in line with similar products such as the Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 or the Gillette ProGlide fusion. Our skincare products are, we feel, similarly competitively priced and were developed by British dermatologists and then manufactured in the UK on the same production line as several very well known premium brands but more in line with high street prices.

Thanks for your honest review Mark - it's a real shame you didn't get the smooth shave our members love the first time round. Our blades are angled a little different to some other razors, so I'm sure you'll get that 5* shave once you settle into to it! Do let us know how you get on :-)

“Very happy with all products only one issue I feel the handle is very slippy when hands are wet it would be good if there was a piece of rubber inserted into the grove on the back of the handle. If this was the case I'd give you 5 stars . And after all I'd say the handle has got to be one of the most important parts”

It's such a shame to hear you're not a fan of the new handle, Grant! We developed this razor based on suggestions from our members, and even asked a few of them to test it out before release! We'd like to collate as much information about this issue as possible, though, so if you could send us a photo of the way you hold your handle - and any suggestions - in an email we'd love to hear where a grip might work best for you.

“Packaging was fab. Products look great and arrived in good time. However first shave wasnt great and left skin quite raw. No comparison to the Gillette razor I'm afraid. But disappointed 😞”

“Hello Cornerstone, My first shave felt really good. It was one of the smoothest shaves I have experienced but after a couple of days a few spots began to appear under my chin. I waited for 5 days and shaved with cornerstone again this time not using the post shave cream. I haven't had a spot since and realised it was this which caused problems. Apart from this experience I am impressed with this product. I have been shaving for years and each time I shaved using a Gillette or Wilkinson Sword I would always have a small cut either on my face or under my chin.”
