Disappointed to find that most respondents are just "partners" of conveyancing firms - small unqualified operations looking for referral fees and offering nothing after putting you in touch with their selected choice of professional. Well worth finding out who they choose and checking their feedback before you commit. Many quotes imply fixed fees but the small print reveals they are not so don't select on price alone - you'll almost certainly be billed for more in the end.”

“Works well until you try to use the conveyancers. It turns out conveyancing is not something easily done remotely, they rely on the post which is slow and you have to provide certified ID, from eg. a doctor of solicitor that you have to pay for, or they will do it if you 'pop in' to their office (which for me was a 200 mile round trip). I replaced mine with a local firm and I would advise anyone else to pay the extra fifty quid and use a local firm.”
