“Cannot trust Ferns, gives a quote books car in then cancels without any reason. Upon phoning and texting no reply as such dishonest and no customer care or respect. Go elsewhere in my opinion.He cannot deny as has been given several requests to respond at my calls to his staff and also emails so totally ignored and no respect.His lox as now going elsewhere. Customers need to know this treatment so be warned.”

“Ferns quoted and booked my R107 SL car in for a cam box cover gasket replacement, then after the booking subsequently cancelled his appointment with no reason. Upon my obvious query and emailing and repeated calls for a simple answer this was ignored. This disappointing and unreliable garage has neither professionalism or simple customer respect and as such I totally question their integrity. You cannot repudiate this as you have been given numerous opportunities to respond as you well know but failed. As such do not trust Ferns and I suggest go elsewhere where they respect customers. I am considering reporting them to the Motor Trades Ombudsman unless at this late stage they offer me an explanation for my booking cancellation without any reason, as such do this in reply before I escalate.”

“Yet another first for Colin Ferns. Our 20 + year old 200 Kompressor had been standing idle for 4.5 months while we were in the States and needed considerable attention to get it through the necessary MOT and to make it safe for further travel. All done for a reasonable price.”

“Colin Ferns' garage came to my rescue when I required an MOT to be carried-out very quickly on my car. An added bonus is the fact that they are a specialist Mercedes garage. I wasn't feeling too well so they very kindly collected and delivered my car back to me. Andre who dealt with everything was very helpful and I felt someone I could trust. I will be going back to have three new tyres fitted and will continue in the future.”

“This is a specialist Mercedes repair shop. Our 200 Kompressor needed a part which other garages informed us was unobtainable, even from Mercedes themselves.The car was new in 2001. It is long in the tooth but reliable as long sa maintained properly. Colin Ferns sourced the necessary part, fitted it, advised what further work was needed to pass the MOT test The car passed. It is now safely on the road for another year. Hurray for Colin Ferns !”

“Having to wait for parts to arrive before the car could be repaired I was expecting to have to leave the car at Colin Ferns for the weekend. However a phone call at 5pm Friday assured me that the car was repaired and would be delivered back to my home. I was most happy with this news as it allowed me to follow through with plans for the weekend.”

“Colin Ferns have looked after my C200SE Sports Coupe since I bought it (secondhand) in 2007. They have serviced it and repaired it very efficiently and at very reasonable cost. Most recently they have restored the car, which had been left behind outdoors for nearly two years when I went into lockdown abroad, to excellent condition. I can thoroughly recommend their workmanship , their customer service and their over-all efficiency.”

“Office staff and the technicians are friendly and helpful and always do a good job with minimum of fuss and Colin will talk to me on the phone if I need him to. I never have to wait long for an appointment, including at short notice fixing little problems like a faulty bulb, and they have Mercedes specialist expertise.”

“I received very helpful and comprehensive advice from Colin Ferns in respect of my recently-purchased classic Mercedes. He is clearly very knowlegeable about these vehicles and took the time to explain his thoughts on what work he thought was needed to get my car into top-notch mechancial condition. A detailed quote for proposed work was provided to me for approval before any work was undertaken. There was good communication throughout, emails were answered quickly and comprehensively, even when I asked for a photo of the progress this was sent almost immediately, and the final invoice was in line with the original estimate (slightly under, actually!). I added additional requirements whilst the work was in progress and this wasn't an issue atall, I was quoted promptly for everything I asked for and, during the work when a couple of defects were uncovered, I was asked whether I wanted them addressed and precisely what the cost would be. The website is very clear in terms of location, opening hours, hourly rates, scope of work, etc. and there were no surprises at the end of the process. I am delighted with my car and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Colin Ferns to classic Mercedes owners.”
