My daughter bought me a pair of your Grecian slippers, she had to return them to your shop as there was a fault with them, she was given a refund. I then purchased a replacement pair online,O/No 2872876,,when they arrived I saw that a staple had been removed from the sole of one of the slippers.I complained to your office and was asked to return them and they would replace them.This I did only to find the replacement had exactly the same fault.Another phone call to you,and I was assured that the stock would be checked and another pair would be sent.Once again the same fault.Today I received the 4th pair with the same fault,and it was obvious that some one had roughened up the sole of the slipper to disguise the fault. I would not have expected this standard of service or quality of goods from a firm of your long standing.I await your reply.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear of your disappointment with regard to the slippers. As mentioned via your contact with us, the manufacturer advises that this mark is part of the manufacturing process and in no way is detrimental to the slippers. We did look at many pairs of slippers and found a pair with no holes which was sent to you. I apologise if you are not happy with these, we will issue a full refund once the slippers are returned. We apologise sincerely for you disappointment, it may be that this style is one that is not suitable for you as we cannot guarantee that any future orders would not have these manufacturing marks in them. Thank you for your review. DPD tried to deliver on 25th May, again on 26th May, again 30th May, again 31st May, and a final attempt on 1st June. I can see that you have left an instruction each time for them to leave in a safe place, so I apologise that the courier did not act upon this. Sadly trainers arrived worn/heavily tried on! Black scuffs on rubber trim and bottoms dirty. Thrown into box, obviously returned by another customer and not checked before resending. Item returned, customer service helpful in providing returns label. No stock available for a exchange so awaiting refund.

Thank you for your review. Your order was indeed placed as a next day, this is the next working day. Weekends and Bank Holidays do not count as working days. As your order was placed on the Saturday and it was a bank holiday, next day would have been Wednesday, however we arraged a colletion on the Saturday so that your order was with you on the Tuesday as the couriers and Mail services were off on the Monday. I am sorry that you were expecting your order sooner, it was however dispatched sooner that it needed to be and delivered within the correct time scale. The delivery details for next day available on our website under delivery, reads as follow. NEXT DAY UK DELIVERY Next day delivery is a guaranteed next working day service for orders placed before 5pm. Orders placed after 5pm will be processed as soon as possible, but may be dispatched the next working day. Any orders placed at the weekend will not be dispatched until the Monday for Tuesday delivery. Next day delivery is charged at £5.99 and is available on items that we have in our central warehouse. This is because some items have to be sourced from our stores and will take a little longer to process. If next day delivery is available, you will be able to select the service at the checkout. Absolutely shocking !!! shoes already worn by someone else - filthy inner sole and scuffed sole of shoe - obviously previously worn. Have photos - have NEVER paid £99 for second hand shoes - thought Clinkard was a quality shop not a charity shop!!!

Thank you for your review. We are sincerely sorry to hear that you have received shoes that appear to have been worn. If we have stock left in our main warehouse, we do ask our stores to return stock that may have been in their holding warehouse to replenish their own stock. This may mean that sometimes a shoe may have been tried on. Also if someone has maybe bought two pair of shoes in different sizes to check which fits, we may get a return of a shoe. However, all of this stock should be quality checked and not sent out for a delivery unless it is perfect. I apologise, it seems that on this occasion we have let you down. Please be assured we will speak to our dispatch tem and let them know what happened so that they will be more vigilant in the future. Looking at your order, you do not seem to have been in touch with regard to this, we do hope that you will. Our customer service department is open 7 days a week and they will be happy to asist with your return at no cost to yourself. We can also arrange a refund or replacment for you. Very disappointed, the sandals I received were damaged with a cut on the inside. I sent them back , requesting a refund for them and my postage . The refund I received for the shoes, but not postage. As the shoes were damaged, I expected better service than this.

Description of the product not accurate on their website and returns are not free which basically means, I have to pay for their mistake. Very frustrating.

You charged for next day delivery and it took two days. No refund offered. White trainers arrived dirty too.

Thank you for your review. Our Next day delivery has a cut off point of 5pm, this is stated in or terms and contitions and in our delivery information. We use DPD and also Royal Mail for our deliveries and their last collection from us is at 5.45 as we close at 6pm. Your order was placed after this time and was sent out on the next day so it was sent out correctly. Your trainers should not have arrived dirty, if you would like to call us on 0345 241 7742 quoting your order number, we can arrange for a return of the shoes, so long as unworn. So disappointed, ordered bag, had to return as it was faulty (clasp wouldn't work). Could not be replaced as it was in Sale! Manufactures fault. Felt that Charles Clinkard should have replaced for Goodwill! Lady dealing with me charming. Charles Clinkard down in my estimation ☹️ Julia Cole

I’m sorry to hear the condition of the clasp of the bag was in when purchased, unfortunately due to the item being in the sale/limited stock, we couldn’t source the stock to replace the bag for you in the same colour. Unfortunately, the colour you requested for an exchange was not in the sale and had a significant price difference, to the original purchase. Beware Refund Proces: Ordered online. Returned to my local shop. Got return receipt. 3 weeks later no refund. Called shop. They apologised for “internal error” but said it happens often. They paid the next day. If I hadn’t called the shop I think I’d have missed out on my return. Feels like sharp practice to me. The roll has generated a return receipt. The credit repayment should be immediate and should be reconciled.

Very disappointed with the first delivery of some blue espadrilles. They were totally different shades of blue so I had to wait for a returns label to be posted off to me, as I have no printer at the moment, and am now waiting for a replacement pair. The difference in colour was immediately obvious to me so I fail to understand why they were sent out. I also ordered a stone coloured pair and they have arrived and are fine. I hope the blue pair arrive soon.

Apparently my order, which I made 19 days ago, arrived some time ago and I was never contacted. I did, however, receive two emails about customer feedback for my purchase. So, that is what I'm doing here. I'm disappointed in the customer service of Charles Clinkard and at this point I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know.
