The boots are lovely and I am very pleased with them but the packaging was not up to your usual standard. One boot had its leg folded in half and the box they were in was very tatty indeed . It had a rip in it and several folds across the lid

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that your order was not in a neater box. The box is ultimately there to protect the boots and we hope that the boots inside were ok. Ordered shoes on line for collection at shop.Received message to confirm shoes to be delivered by DPD or Royal Mail!!! However,after a couple of phone calls,it turned out that they were delivered to shop.unfortunately they were a little tight so could not buy. Charles Clinkard sell a good range and prices are generally competitive but their customer service and communications need improvement.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry if you found any of our information to be confusing. Our order confimation is automated and we apologise if this said that you would have a delivery via courier, if a customer opts for an in store collection, we send it to the store instead. We do have a full customer service team available 7 days a week to help customers with any inquiry either by telephone or email. Deliver arrived in time but slippers too big had to pay returns cost Charles Clinkard recommend tacked service cost of which was £8.99but sent signed for at approx £5. Will not buy again due to high cost of returns

We do deliver free of charge, and also send out any exchanges where we cover the delivery postage to the customer again. but we do ask our customers to cover the cost of returns. You can return an order to one of our Charles Clinkard stores, you do have a full year in which to do this so long as unworn. You can also return using the link on our website, this is £4.49 and covers up to 10 kilo so you can return several pairs at the same time. Customers can also use any courier that you wish, or send back via second class Royal Mail to keep costs down. Slippers would be aprox: £2.85 We would recommend that you get some tracking which would be around 80p more. Kind regards, Janice - customer services

I have used site in past and not had reason to return anything yet I was very surprised to discover that I had to pay for the return as the boots weren't a good fit. It's doubtful that I will use the company in the future

Thank you for your review. Your order has been sent from the UK with Royal Mail. This reads as in transit and once received through customs will show on your local postage tracking. I have emailed you the tracking number in a private email. Kind regards, Janice - customer services

Bought these for my grandson I paid £12.99 +postage and they arrived with a £9.99 sticker On them they are a cute pair of slippers though. Issue hasn’t been sorted sent picture to your colleague what was asked for and still waiting for reply.

The shoes were very good looking and high quality. However, I have quite wide feet and the wide fitting I selected was nowhere near my size - I couldn't get them on! Frustrating..

Boots are lovely and delivery was fast, but when the knee high boots arrived they were crumpled at one end of the box. I think such expensive boots should have had some support inside them or wrapping to protect the leather and shape in transit .

Felt very disappointed that I would Have to pay the postage if I was not happy with the purchase. It would have been acceptable if I was able to return purchase to our local department store that had Clinkard concession.

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately our till systems in Concession stores are different to our main stores and a refund would not be processed if you return to them. This is something that we are looking at for the future and that in time customers can take back to these stores too. We do deliver free of charge, but do ask cusomers to cover the cost of returns, there is a link on our website to collect+ where for £4.49 you can return up to 10 kilo, or if you have just one item, second class Royal Mail with maybe 80p extra for tracking would be a cheaper option. I ordered a pair of boots with half the leg comprised of stretch suede. I’m a dress size 8 and 5’ 6” so of average build but couldn’t fasten one of the boots over my calf. The foot size was perfect. Whilst all dealings with the company have been efficient, I would not order again as it cost 12.15 GBP to return by recommended method.

We are sorry to hear that you have had to return this lovely boot because they were not wide enough on the calf, your comments will help others when they are looking for something for themselves. With regard to returns, you have up to 12 month so long as unworn and can take back to a Charles Clinkard store. You have one within 9 miles of where you live. If you do post, we recommend a tracked service, but you can use this with second class mail bringing the price right down, you do not need to have a next day service which seems to be what you may have opted for. There is also a link to colect + on our website where for the low cost of £4.49 you can buy a tracked label and take the shoes to your nearest collect + store for return. I bought the same size of shoe that I always buy in that make but I find them rather tight. To return them I have to pay the postage which I find rather a bind. I have never had to post shoes back to you before and consider this an imposition so I will hope that they stretch in wearing

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to har that you have found your shoes tight on this occasion. It may be that with wearing sandals etc over the summer that a new enclosed leather shoe does feel tighter. The pairs that you have already will have warmed and stretched to your feet. As this is a lovely soft and supple leather this pair will do the same and hopefully very soon, you will be finding that they are as comfortable as the pairs that you have had in the past. Order processed quickly ,not impressed with return options .Post office special delivery was the only straight forward way to do the return with sufficient insurance to cover in the event of loss. This has put me off using you again.

Thank you for your review. We do cover the cost of delivery to our customers, and you can either return an unwanted item to one of our stores, or return by post. Most people return using second class Royal Mail and add tracking, this allows for you to see when it arrives with us. There is a link on our website to collect+ where for £4.49, you can return up to 10 kilo for this one lower price. We do have a Concession branch not to far from you, and although you cannot take back there items bought on line, you may find that they have the items that you would like and if not that they can get them for you. The email confirmation of my order said a tracking number would be sent. But none was received. Exactly same as my previous order.

I am sorry that you were waiting for a tracking number, you had opted for a collection from the store, so this is sent differently to orders that are going direct to customers as we send all orders for that store in one package. Ordering with Charles Clinkard is fine and speedy, but the delivery service from the Post office isn't. I had two failed delivery attempts with no time slots given. They informed me of their first failed attempt by email two hours after they tried to deliver it, which wasn't helpful. I eventually redirected it to my local post office, it was just by chance I called in, as again they had not contacted me with a time to pick it up. Other delivery services give you a time slot the post office say "before 7:30pm" which is not helpful.
