This is a customer service review. I stopped at a bp pulse charging point. After connecting the cable to my car, the screen displays a 'out of service' message, and the cable would not disconnect from my car (stuck). So I ring customer service for assistance; the lady was patient and polite, and she was able to help me.

the charging is easy to process and the charging speed is adequate. But I suggest the look of the charger need to redesign and make it look smart and modern.

As mentioned in other reviews, I had a bit of difficulty with communication. However, the assistance I had from one Mohammed Sabbir, was effective and outstanding. Everything he needed was submitted to him, who took possession of my application and travelled through it with me. I thank him for his care and service.

An agreeable electrician Dane installed the home charging device in 4½ hours. His fitting of the charger was efficient, neat, clean and tidy. So far it's working the way it should - despite adverse comments in recent editions of The Times re bp Pulse, its customer relations and lack of response to cries for help from those whose home chargers had malfunctioned.

Engineers who came to install our chargepoint were polite, friendly, informative and helpful. They arrived on-time as arranged and worked neatly and effectively, accommodating our requirements for siting and cabling. The office staff were friendly and helpful, in the end arranging installation to take place after just a few days from booking it. However, the lead-up to this point was long, taking several months, and protracted by a series of enabling steps that were required: arranging all of this was long drawn-out with several hiatuses. We are happy with the installation and use it after every trip in our PHEV.

Sorted very quickly, the charger is easy to use, my only gripe is that several plants were trampled to death by the engineer when fitting the cable.

I found with bp pulse their seems no communication amongst themselves . We had to take pictures and answer all these questions before they even think about coming out . Eventually a fitter came out and half did it and left , a week later I phoned to ask what’s happening because it’s not working and they said they must have lost the paperwork . After lots more phone calls a fitter came out , a very nice young man explained how it works and was very apologetic about them losing the paperwork etc .

Apart from the overly complex and time consuming process to upload the numerous photos needed prior to making arrangements, and that only one fitter arrived believing it was a sub-15 metre cable run (it should have been two fitters because the cable run I had paid for was actually 28.5 metres), the fitting was arranged quickly and was done exceptionally neatly (although it took the single fitter 9 hours on one of the hottest days of the year!). All works very well, I received the certificate by e-mail a few days later, and I am very happy with the final product.

Had charger fitted fast and clean didn’t take long but iv been waiting for the safety cert for last few week rung them many times still get nothing. The fitter did a brill job

a bit slow on the uptake with varying with the left hand not knowing what the right is doing a lot of mix ups and on their part. it took a long time to sort out what was happening with them, however, it was finally sort after a lot of intervention from my did it was excellent new car dealership and motability. regarding the actual installation the chap who did it was excellent - neat, clean tidy and no fuss - so I would highly recommend him.

Very poor communication from the office about when the charger would be fitted, that is worth a minus number, but the actual fitter was excellent.

Great to have home charge available for ease of home charging. Installation was straightforward enough and clean. The app to access is very basic and there is not option to lock unit in App but only key lock.

Apart from having to do a comprehensive site survey myself, which I hope was because of covid, and required in depth knowledge about all incoming services to the house, I had good customer service. The electrician from Elm park electrical came as arranged and completed a very professional clean installation. He explained what he was doing every step of the way and how to use the charge point. It took approx 3 weeks to get installation. Haven’t used the app yet.

Took about a month to be installed, which was about what I was expecting (and has beaten the arrival of the car, which has had manufacturing delays...). Did take several phone calls during the early stages though to clarify some questions and ensure the process was kept moving forwards. Installation itself was quick and done as tidily as you'd hope. [Regarding the "How did you communicate with the company?" The response only allows you to choose one response. I communicated with them by email _and_ by phone... Regarding the "How quick did the company reply to your queries? There's a massive gap in the options! - under an hour - 2-3 hours - 3-6 hours - 6-12 hours - over a week What if it was over 12 hours, but under a week?! In my case, email queries fell into that band, usually taking 24-48 hours to get a response. Phone responses were immediate.]

It took only two weeks to get my charging point installed. The sub-contractor (Ascent Energy) was excellent and the installer could not have been more helpful, knowledgeable and professional. My only complaint was the requirement on me to undertake a fairly comprehensive survey of my home prior to installation - I imagined that this would be done by the installer but ended up having to do this myself. Despite having a reasonable knowledge of electrics and water utilities it took about an hour to complete the online form and provide photos. However, overall, I am extremely happy and pleased not to have had the problems that others have encountered.

I was disappointed when BP Pulse told me that they could not install a 32 amp charger as the location was too far from my meter. However it would be possible to install a 16amp unit using an existing supply in the garage. the electrician who installed was very helpful and did a great job.
