“As an Indie author, marketing has been my biggest challenge. Uncertainty in which direction to take combined with my limited time and budget has prompted me to do a bit a research. What I've learned is that– in today's market– one avenue I mustn't miss is that of social media. Since many Books Go Social tweets pop out on Twitter, common sense has suggested that if they catch my eye, they most likely will capture the attention of the masses. So, I have made a modest investment in Books Go Social as a marketing tool. They haven't disappointed me. I receive numerous notices each day of their promotion tweets for my book. Lately, they have taken it upon themselves to add a visual cue that has received even more attention and retweets. Overall, I've been very pleased with their services and plan to continue using them in the future.”

“It's not that BooksGoSocial didn't try, but I doubt that they were actually able to do anything for my book (a nonfiction book). They have a lot of followers but I suspect they are all authors wanting promotion for their books and not readers who want to buy books. I rewrote my book description following the BooksGoSocial's instructions. I tried to get people to review my book, but was shot down by BooksGoSocial when I did what his post had asked authors to do. I tried some of the other free things that they offer/suggest. My book was increasing in sales before I used BooksGoSocial (10 paperback sales the first month and 20 the second - the BooksGoSocial promotion came after the 20 sales of the second month) and now it is not selling (I had 2 sales the third month and none so far this month). (I should say that my Kindle sales have stayed the same at about 10 a month). My book's paperback rating on Amazon has nosedived into the netherworld. Lessons have been learned and I am moving on.”

“I felt something was not quite right when nearly 30% of the so called 'hits' on the site came from Slovakia and Serbia. This made me suspect a call centre in those two countries was simply artificially boosting the 'hits'. This made me suspicious of all the 1900 hits to the site. How many were in fact genuine and how many were being artificially manufactured to fulfill a so called guarantee. In the end I felt as though I had been the victim of some sort of scam and was profoundly disappointed.”

“I noticed that other writers had reviews of their book and I never saw one for either A Woman Undefeated or Shattered Dreams. When I tried to post something of mine on the site, it never got past the moderator. I didn't see any increase in my sales. In contrast, I have just finished a Boost Post with Facebook and my sales have rocketed. Financially, I didn't suffer because I got my money back.”

“The twitter blast and purported traffic resulted in no book sales at all. It could be that my book page is absolutely terrible. It could be that the traffic didn't happen. It could be that the vast number of twitter followers are book sellers not buyers. I can't say conclusively, but the fact is I got zero result from the experiment and have chalked the lost outlay up to experience... that twitter doesn't work for cold selling books.”

“There was absolutely no increase in traffic to the Smashwords site where my book was listed. However, the company offered and quickly provided a full refund! They also offered some insight as to what may help my book get more attention. I may try their services again after applying the fixes they suggested.”

“I hired BooksGoSocial because I do not like to self promote. I would be happy to pay for promotion if it were effective. Unfortunately, the promotional campaign BGS did for me which consisted of my book's mention (I Came by Cab) on their site as well as a twitter campaign had zero effect. I do not believe I sold a single book during it's run. I still think my book is good. My reviews are all 5-star. Unfortunately after its first year, the book has done nothing. I have no complaints about BGS's service in the sense that the company quickly replied to my emails and answered my questions. It was all very professional but, sadly, it did not work.”

“BooksGoSocial.com has a a wide variety of books from all genres to choose from. The website is easy to navigate and user friendly. Browsing is enjoyable as a first page preview is available. BooksGoSocial offers an excellent support service for authors, author interviews and a Reader Group. I highly recommend BooksGoSocial.”

“Thank you for the support. The tweets came up regularly and were nicely visible. A did notice though that they tended to be clustered together i.e. they would come in groups of 3 or 4 and then there would be a big space of time and intervening tweets from others, before another set would appear. Unfortunately, the tweets did not create a difference in sales or any apparent interest in the book...sigh. Thanks anyway.”
