“When I placed the order it was accepted but only to be told later that the 2 items were out of stock . I had to wait a few weeks for them to be delivered . No probs with this as I was kept well informed. Not really happy with the price value of the two items . Both items LOOK good but not practical and very over priced. The peg box is cute but far too small and have seen them similar since, cheaper and larger. The maiden looks good but I have had to wedge something under it to balance it out. Had I seen these two items before I paid for them I would not have purchased them . Don't usually leave reviews bit feel I have been ripped off.”

“Site advised goods in stock and they were not. 22nd June Received message advising will be in stock 10th July. As not advised by you what was happening rang on 14th July. Advised in stock and money taken but no confirmation of dispatch. Item arrived 18th July. Received message 21st July advising Goods dispatched and payment taken. Appeared you were taking payment twice, however you didn't, so all OK.”

“Was very well packaged but when I took bin out it had a dent in. I needed it so didn't send back and managed to push the dent more or less out.”

“Having shopped at Barnitts in York on several occasions, I had high hopes for their online service. I wasn't disappointed! My Dualit kettle was a reasonable price, the packaging was excellent, and the despatch was super-swift. Excellent service”

“The products that I bought from Barnitts were great and I found the choice and prices to be very good. However, the items were out of stock after I had ordered and it took 6 weeks for them to arrive! I had a couple of emails to let me know the status of my delivery - and thankfully I wasn't in a rush to receive the items! But I feel that if an item isn't in stock then it shouldn't be sold to customers on the premise that it is available...”

“Two comments about your online ordering service: Firstly, there wasn't anything on the website to indicate how long deliveries are likely to take. (In fact it was very quick, but I would have liked to know on ordering, in case it took too long and the alternative would be to collect in person or get a courier.) Secondly, one of the items was out of stock, this was the most important item I ordered, so again, it would be nice to know on ordering, not days later. But pleased in general.”

“Service was efficient. However there ' s an issue with paying via PayPal on their website. The check out showed the value of the goods l purchased, delivery charge £ 4.95 and discount for delivery charge -£ 4.95 as the goods value was over £100. When l clicked PayPal payment, the delivery charge discount dissapeared in PayPal window and the total value was higher then in check out basket. l reported the problem to customer service but they seemed not to be able to resolve it.”

“product required was out of stock so had to wait 3 weeks. after 4 weeks i had to email to chase delivery of overdue item which was then delivered the following day. not as good a service as i normally recieve from Barnitts. but will still use again in future!!”

“The response to the order was good & quick, and delivery prompt. The product unfortunately had 6 tiny crosshead screws to undo before I could put the batteries in, for which I don't have a small enough screwdriver. Even more difficult trying to screw it back up with a nailfile to form a watertight seal !”
