Im trying to change my phone number with them, called the phone banking number and was informed there is up to a 40 minute wait for a advisor ! Its just gone one hour and 10 minutes and im still waiting to change my bleeding number ! I would go to my local branch but they closed it last year !!!!!!! Think its time to switch after a unsatisfying 20 years of banking.

So many mistakes .Have put in a complaint. Never get to speak to the same person twice, and have to keep telling them the problem over and over again. Have spoken to 5 people now and problems still not resolved 🤬 useless.

I have banked with Barclays for over 3 decades. They used to be absolutely ok for customer service. Something has gone badly badly wrong. They’ve been asking me to update one of my businesses for months, but have not indicated what information they need. I’ve complained on chat (only way to make a complaint now as site has no complaints form) as the letters they say they have sent have not arrived, and the web form they suggest tells me to wait for the letter. Then they text me to say they are blocking my account and I need to call x number. When I call the number it has a 2 hr wait time (for business banking!). When I log my fourth complaint in two months (all ignored) it says chat is down. What is wrong with this bank? Avoid Avoid Avoid, Nat West MUCH better

!!!!Steer clear!!! !!!!!!Steer clear. Do not take out a mortgage with Barclays !!!!!!! Wife and I recently ported our mortgage with Barclays on a like for like basis with no additional borrowing. Somehow they managed to ad £4000 to our opening balance by mistake. These weren't charges or early repayments it purely is an additional £4k added by mistake. We phoned our broker Samantha Joyce many times when we first spotted the mistake who suddenly is no longer contactable, we then went on to speak to various different staff at Barclays whereby everyone we spoke to said they will put in a complaint and deal with it, nobody from Barclays called us to update us on what was going on so eventually after a month of not getting anywhere we decided to put in a complaint ourselves, this complaint was looked into, Barclays acknowledged that there was a £4k difference in our closing and opening balance and that somewhere a mistake was made. We received a call today from Barclays complaints (we ported our mortgage on 3rd October 2023 today is the 13th of December its taken over 2 months so far) they ring and said that their mortgage broker made the error and not Barclays and therefore Barclays is not at fault. They advised that we get in touch with our Barclays mortgage broker and to take it up with her. Samantha Joyce at Barclays was our broker. Stay well away. Barclays shame on you. We now have to take our complaint to the ombudsman. That's more of our time and effort to resolve something that wasn't our fault at all. We can't update our life insurance policy (we paid off a lump sum) until our balance is correct. Our fixed rate expired in November, this mistake of Barclays forced us to take out another mortgage with Barclays due to the balance being wrong. We are paying extra daily interest on £4k it is just not acceptable

The worst bank ever. Everything is wrong. I have Bern banking with them for over 7 years, such a mistake, waste if time and money. Very rude, unprofessional staff, not nice towards their customers, actually they don't care at all. Not a single benefit from being here. I am going yo more ASAP. I had enough with this company

We use Barclays.Net for business banking. They have blocked our account because they don't understand the changing made regarding to only listing Trustees on Companies House and Charity Commission. I am company secretary and treasure and not a trustee. I set the bank account up and am a cheque signatory. Barclays say they have put in a request for the account to be unblocked but cannot say how long it will take for the request to be implemented. We have been waiting just over a day. Very very disappointed.

Be aware of Barclays security flaws, you can easily loose your money, I think fraudsters found some way using Barclays Telephone Banking.... Yesterday I had phone call from Barclays tel.number, as text message from Barclays, saying that they blocked some suspicious transaction on my account...I was suspicious , but they had somehow all my details including address, DOB, account numbers, card numbers, I dont keep all these details in one place, they would have to hack several different sources like google pay, my computer , etc. to put all these details together, therefore I guess they had all details directly from the bank...they said they will transfer my call and probably connected my call to Barclays Telephone Banking system, I was lucky I had my money in my savings account and I logged into banking app within 20 seconds, seeing my funds being tranferred from savings account to current account, from there they would get lost...I hung up and transferred all the money out from Barclays to my other accounts, I was lucky I was faster than fraudsters... I called Barclays to report it, they refused even to transfer my call to fraud department, instead froze all my access to my accounts and ask me to go to local branch to identify myself... I was explaing that I am out of UK until January, I had to move even overdraft funds out of Barclays to avoid stealing them by scammers, so I will not be able to pay my direct debits and will be charged for going overdraft by bank, asking bank to report this case so they can investigate it and fix any security flaw, because until January scammers can clear accounts of thousands of peple, but they were not interested, instead they blocked in addition to telephone banking access my access to Barclays Bank App and online bank access...no intension to investigate what has hapenned, scammers in the meantime can clear accounts of thousands people... Once I return to UK, I am sure I will be closing my accounts with Barclays and see how much they will try to charge me for going overdraft, to protect my own money they were unabe to protect and unwilling to invetigate the flaw in their system to allow fraudsters from stealing money from their customers...in the meantime it will take lots of time to move all my direct debits and regular payments to another banks, otherwise I could face panalties from companies/utilities/internet for falling behind with the payments...

No Interest paid on an online account, no communication from bank, type of account not on statement. Android not supported. Can't even make a payment from the account. A least we still have a branch in the town so will be able to close the account.

Wish I could put NO stars. Have a small toddler account, in August Barclays asked for confirmation of organisation details, supplied them. Account still visible but no statements and no access. In September told that nothing had happened due to problems in scanning in paperwork. In the meantime we were also trying to change one signatory, on chasing the mandate I was also told that there were problems scanning in paperwork. In October still more delays and the account blocked. Constantly asked for more information. No help, or reply online from any telephone number. By November no access to the account at all. Barclays notified me that a document was placed for me to read on the account - HOW? Chatline managed to copy and post it for me saying that the mandate had been passed (only took 2 months). Phoned various numbers and ended up with a person in India with very poor English. She wanted me to give various figures from the account a proof of security and could not understand that I could not access the account. Ended up being asked to log into Secure Barclays email and to provide "Proof of Existence". Accessed using the enormously long passcode and changed the passcode, supplied the information on one of the permitted documents. Account not released and I am still being reminded every few hours that I haven't replied at all. Appalling!

Good afternoon! Hope you are all well! I am writing to inform pretty much everybody about the behavior of Barclays Bank. Barclays has just lost the trust and reputation that this bank is unsafe and unsecured! The case is: I used a P2P trading platform to exchange my cryptocurrency into pounds. P2P is quite simple; the buyer who wishes to buy crypto sends me money (in this case, to my Barclays Bank account), and then I release and transfer the cryptocurrency to them. However, the situation is that, within 24 hours after the transaction, my bank account was frozen, placed under investigation, and I was asked to provide more details about the transaction. I provided all the details about this transaction, explaining that it is a P2P transaction, with proofs and the order number of the transaction. After waiting for a while, they unfroze my account. However, there was no money; they took it all out, claiming it was a decision by the fraud department. So, I went to a branch and started to ask what happened. Members of Barclays said that the case was initiated by the person who paid me pounds in exchange for crypto. In conclusion, they took my money out, sent it back to the person who purchased the crypto, leaving him with cryptocurrency and the funds he paid for the crypto—a win-win situation for him. For me, it was a loss of funds, leaving me with £0 in my account with the professional help of the Barclays Bank department. It is most likely that the person who paid for the crypto said he had been scammed to gain crypto for free, and Barclays believed him, not believing me even though I provided all proofs and details of this transaction. It's a smart scheme protecting scammers by Barclays! According to their logic, I can go to a Rolex store, purchase watches for £10,000, return to the bank, say they scammed me for £10,000, and get a refund—having £10,000 in cash and watches worth £10,000. I don't believe in this bank and advise everybody not to use any service or open a bank account with Barclays. They can take all of your money out using pretty much the same method as they took money from me, not only in crypto P2P transactions. I have studied financial economics and know that banks mostly rely on the trust of their customers, so do not trust this bank; your money can be taken out at any second by the bank itself! Moreover as they saying that “we have a right not to provide any details regarding this transaction” so … outcome taking money out of thee account, with no explanation and no further documented responds proving their action! I would strongly advise not to use this bank and strongly advise everybody that I know not to use this bank because it is unsafe, trustless, and useless!

Yet another day at Barclays Nottingham 10.30 to 14.15 to try and get the block off my business account. A very helpful young man tried to help me by phoning the phone number for India to speak to the team that deals with the verifications (account Blocking) but the wait time to speak to a person was 90 minutes so I sat with him in the branch with the on hold music playing watching the time go by until it got to 2 Hours 15 minutes then they cut us off. He rang the number again and the recorded message said there will be a 1 hour wait so the assistant emailed somebody asking them to ring me ASAP. The phone call finally came through about 16.30 and the lady ask me what could she help me with my reply was please unblock my account she said I can't do that until you have sent them prove of the business name and address I said I have sent them 3 or 4 times already and one of the times one of the Barclays staff in Nottingham sent them for me and then spoke to India to make sure they had received the proof I said noway I am sending anything else if they cannot be bothered to log it against my account. she said then we might have to close your account I then ask her if she could lift the block on my account now she replied yes if you send me the proof tomorrow if not she would block the account again She pressed a button and the account was unlocked straight away and I have sent the proof this evening so lets hope that is the end of it but I very much doubt it

Well where should I start I have several accounts with Barclays one business account and several personal accounts and for the last two months I keep getting messages to verify my details which I have done three or four times spending up to 15 hours on the phone and once I called in to the main Barclays Branch in Nottingham and they contacted India and spoke to the people there who are dealing with the verifications the person in the Bank sent all the details they needed and my account was once again up and running after 24 hours But then today once again they have blocked my online account so that I cannot get on it at all phoned the bank this morning and they were a waste of time then this evening I went on the app on my phone and clicked on the contact us it came up with the help chat line then it ask me to send a message so I sat and sent a long message explaining everything then clicked send and to my surprise (not) it came up on my phone with the messaging service is not working at the moment please try again another time Then looking at their reviews there is a lot of Barclays customers having the same problems By the way how much did Barclays make last £----------------

The process to open a Barclay account is incredibly tedious. I have been in the processing of opening a business account since March. First application I provided everything and didnt hear back from my advisor for months when chasing. When I finally got a response it was to tell me they had closed my application for not replying to their email. When I attached my numerous emails and calls chasing as evidence they told me to start a new application. I start a new application, I provide all the details only to find out despite being barclays customer for 12 years they barely have any of my information. I understand the kyc checks but the level of incompetence is surreal, I have three barclays accounts yet they don't know my addresses.
