“Fantastic organisation and communication. All the arrangements worked perfectly. Balkan escapes provided a very personable, efficient service. The accommodation was luxurious and all in all we had a fantastic, stress free holiday. I would thoroughly recommend Balkan Escapes..”

“My wife and I went to Croatia on a four centre holiday to celebrate our Pearl Wedding Anniversary. I had a good idea as to where I wanted to go and Jack at Balkan Escape helped me to finalise my plans. I’m a perfectionist and difficult to please. However, this company and Jack in particular more than exceeded my expectations . Everything they said they were going to do, they did which is quite something in this day and age! We even got a text from Balkan Escape advising us our ferry had been cancelled the night before we were due to leave for another island, without which we might have missed our connection/ transfer. I would thoroughly recommend using this company and I for one will be back one day to sort stays in Montenegro and elsewhere in Croatia”

“Just returned from a fabulous triple centre holiday in Croatia organised by Jack at Balkan Escape. The hotels were excellent, especially the Vitar in Bol. When our ferry was cancelled Jack rearranged our travel with the minimum of fuss and we arrived in Dubrovnik earlier than our original plans. The attention to detail was exceptional. We found the pre-trip information excellent and the suggested trips were spot on. Certainly, our holiday lived up to our expectations and we are already exploring opportunities to return to the Balkans in the future.”

“A fabulous holiday to Croatia, staying in Split, Hvar and Brac. Very well organised by Jack and Kayleigh who are friendly and professional. Even when a flight changed and a ferry was cancelled, they seamlessly and quickly organised alternatives for us, keeping it stress free. “We had a wonderful time on our trip - with all our requirements being met. The Splendida Palace Hotel in Split was perfect, the room and balcony were ideal and the manager, Marija, was exceptionally helpful providing 5 star breakfasts. This was the best hotel of the three. Unfortunately, our catamaran transfer to Bol was cancelled due to high winds which we did not know about until we arrived at the port. We then had to find an alternative ferry which ran from the far side of the port, so had to carry heavy bags to the booking office and berth 23 - then carry them up to an upper deck (we are in our 70's). The ferry ran to Supetar and we then had to catch a taxi to Bol. Not ideal but not really a problem as we met some interesting people and shared a taxi. Hotel Bol was excellent and the location was fine despite a hill back up from the seafront and some very wet weather. The catamaran was running to Hvar and we were met on the quayside with our bags taken up to Heritage Hotel Dea. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and polite and the location was excellent. The only negative we had was that our room had a slightly "worn" feel - eg. the bedside rug had curled edges (trip hazard), the insect screen to the balcony was torn, the shower fitting holding the removable shower head was broken and the balcony furniture and plant were at the end of their lives! The balcony cushions were saturated when we arrived (presumably from the heavy rain we had a couple of days previously) and we had to lay them out to dry them. It wasn't any real problem but we would expect rather better for the high price paid. Having said that we really enjoyed our stay there. Overall we were very satisfied with our trip, would use Balkan Escape again and are happy to recommend to others. Many thanks.”

“Just returned from a superb holiday to Croatia booked through Balkan Escape. Following an initial conversation, Balkan Escape put together an excellent package for our 17 day trip taking in Split, Hvar, Korcula and Dubrovnik. The whole planning process was so easy and totally customer-focused. We were able to specify locations, lengths of stay and budget so that we got the holiday that we wanted rather than a standard package that only partially met our requirements. The actual holiday itself we couldn't fault. Documentation was all delivered on time, including some useful information about all the places we were visiting and interesting things to see and do. The flights, transfers and ferries all went perfectly. The hotels were all of a very high standard and their locations matched exactly what we had asked for. All in all, one of the best planned holidays that we have been on. I would definitely book through Balkan Escape again and would have no qualms about recommending them. The background advice on where to visit etc. was very helpful, pre-departure ‘paperwork’ was comprehensive and arrived in a timely fashion. All the pick-up and transfer arrangements worked perfectly, and the hotels were in superb locations and certainly merited their 4 star status. “Our trip to Croatia met all our expectations. All transfers were as planned, even though our outward flight was delayed by a couple of hours. We liked the three hotels we stayed in and staff were helpful, from carrying luggage to booking trips. It was unfortunate there were building works going on outside the hotel in Dubrovnik which meant taxis would not drive down the main road outside the hotel, though a member of hotel staff helped us take our luggage to a meeting point for the return airport transfer. We would book with Balkan Escape again, only suggestion would be to provide a printed copy of your itinerary that includes flight info etc with paperwork sent prior to departure.”

“We had booked a 10 day multi-centre trip in Croatia and Montenegro covering Split, Dubrovnik and Kotor Bay. Jack from Balkan Escapes spent a lot of time providing numerous different itineraries and hotels til I found what best suited what we wanted to do. All travel documents and info were sent through and everything was arranged perfectly. We had numerous different transfers between hotels, cities and countries and they all arrived on time in modern vehicles with English speaking drivers and dropped us off exactly where we needed to be. The accomodation recommended was great and the trip was absolutely perfect and Croatia has become one of my favourite countries!. We had one issue in Kotor where the hotel had been taken over by Hyatt and we were put in a room that we hadn't booked and when I contacted Balkan Escapes about it they immediately offered to help pay for an upgrade which was fantastic customer service. I genuinely cannot recommend them enough and will definitely be using them again. Highly recommended”

“The agency that put the trip together for us is very professional and thorough. We enjoyed the holiday, but were disappointed by lack of quality service and rudeness of some people. Most of all the taxi driver who met us at the airport who requested a tip as a first approach and ranted incoherently throughout the journey. Croatia is beautiful, but it's unreasonably expensive with no good value for money. You are not made to feel welcome. We recommend Balkan Escape as tour operator, but not Croatia as worthy destination.”

“With no experience or knowledge of Croatia, we booked a holiday through Jack at Balkan Escapes. He/they planned a 2 week September holiday for us taking into account our interests, offering a choice of hotels and suggestions for activities/trips in a 3 centre holiday (Split, Korcula and Brac). All the hotels, transfers, ferries and suggestions worked well and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Would recommend and use again.”
