“We had a fabulous 2 centre holiday in Croatia. Transfers, hotels and flights were all booked for us. Everything ran like clockwork and we were kept fully informed throughout. We couldn’t fault anything and will definitely be recommending them and using them again in the future”

“From the onset of booking until our holiday Jack was excellent in providing us with answers to our questions throughout the process. We all had a wonderful time. The flights were all fine - transfer from airport ok although driver did drop us off quite a walk away from Hotel Luxe where we stayed at beginning and end of our holiday. Tried to do same on return but we insisted on being collected from hotel as all other taxi firms we used picked us up & dropped us off at the door. Driver not pleased! Our cruise was exceptional and met all our expectations over and above. Car hire with Sixt fine but when we arrived to pick up there was some confusion around amount of 40 euros (which we were advised by Jack to take car on ferry). After some discussion we ended up paying £155 per car extra as they were unaware of the 40 euro charge and advised that the £155 should cover any eventualities on the ferry. They weren't interested in the excess insurance we had paid on Jack's advice. Our week in the villa on Korcula was excellent too which we booked separately. We would certainly book through Balkan Escape in the future.”

“We feel that our holiday needs and requirements were met, accommodation/ transfers was as expected. The servive provided was very good and they dealt with the flight cancellation swiftly and efficiently. Only thing would say is advising more re location of hotels ie we didnt mind but the Split and Dubrovnik hotels were up hills from old town.. otherwise very happy with service had very enjoyable holiday and would definitely book through Balkan Escape again, and indeed recommend to friends/family. “My wife and I went to Croatia on a four centre holiday to celebrate our Pearl Wedding Anniversary. I had a good idea as to where I wanted to go and Jack at Balkan Escape helped me to finalise my plans. I’m a perfectionist and difficult to please. However, this company and Jack in particular more than exceeded my expectations . Everything they said they were going to do, they did which is quite something in this day and age! We even got a text from Balkan Escape advising us our ferry had been cancelled the night before we were due to leave for another island, without which we might have missed our connection/ transfer. I would thoroughly recommend using this company and I for one will be back one day to sort stays in Montenegro and elsewhere in Croatia”

“Just returned from a fabulous triple centre holiday in Croatia organised by Jack at Balkan Escape. The hotels were excellent, especially the Vitar in Bol. When our ferry was cancelled Jack rearranged our travel with the minimum of fuss and we arrived in Dubrovnik earlier than our original plans. The attention to detail was exceptional. We found the pre-trip information excellent and the suggested trips were spot on. Certainly, our holiday lived up to our expectations and we are already exploring opportunities to return to the Balkans in the future.”

This was our second trip with Balkan Escapes and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Everything went very smoothly from flights, transfers, ferries and recommended day trips. I would definitely use them again.”

“A fabulous holiday to Croatia, staying in Split, Hvar and Brac. Very well organised by Jack and Kayleigh who are friendly and professional. Even when a flight changed and a ferry was cancelled, they seamlessly and quickly organised alternatives for us, keeping it stress free. We would definitely book with Balkan Escapes again and recommend to others.”

“We had a wonderful time on our trip - with all our requirements being met. The Splendida Palace Hotel in Split was perfect, the room and balcony were ideal and the manager, Marija, was exceptionally helpful providing 5 star breakfasts. This was the best hotel of the three. Unfortunately, our catamaran transfer to Bol was cancelled due to high winds which we did not know about until we arrived at the port. We then had to find an alternative ferry which ran from the far side of the port, so had to carry heavy bags to the booking office and berth 23 - then carry them up to an upper deck (we are in our 70's). The ferry ran to Supetar and we then had to catch a taxi to Bol. Not ideal but not really a problem as we met some interesting people and shared a taxi. Hotel Bol was excellent and the location was fine despite a hill back up from the seafront and some very wet weather. The catamaran was running to Hvar and we were met on the quayside with our bags taken up to Heritage Hotel Dea. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and polite and the location was excellent. The only negative we had was that our room had a slightly "worn" feel - eg. the bedside rug had curled edges (trip hazard), the insect screen to the balcony was torn, the shower fitting holding the removable shower head was broken and the balcony furniture and plant were at the end of their lives! The balcony cushions were saturated when we arrived (presumably from the heavy rain we had a couple of days previously) and we had to lay them out to dry them. It wasn't any real problem but we would expect rather better for the high price paid. Having said that we really enjoyed our stay there. Overall we were very satisfied with our trip, would use Balkan Escape again and are happy to recommend to others. Many thanks.”

“Just returned from a superb holiday to Croatia booked through Balkan Escape. Following an initial conversation, Balkan Escape put together an excellent package for our 17 day trip taking in Split, Hvar, Korcula and Dubrovnik. The whole planning process was so easy and totally customer-focused. We were able to specify locations, lengths of stay and budget so that we got the holiday that we wanted rather than a standard package that only partially met our requirements. The actual holiday itself we couldn't fault. Documentation was all delivered on time, including some useful information about all the places we were visiting and interesting things to see and do. The flights, transfers and ferries all went perfectly. The hotels were all of a very high standard and their locations matched exactly what we had asked for. All in all, one of the best planned holidays that we have been on. I would definitely book through Balkan Escape again and would have no qualms about recommending them. Thank you Balkan Escape for a really special holiday.”

“Hol was very successful. Only gripes mostly at the beginning. Hotel Kotora put us in a room without terrace even tho we'd booked one. When I asked about this I got a very disinterested response from the receptionist, who told me there'd been a group booking which meant we were shunted into a lesser room so they could all have the terrace rooms. I said I don't care about this group, we've booked a terrace. She said "I don't care either". We left it there! This was Sunday. When manager was in on Monday he rectified it and we got the correct room.... Not a good start tho. Similarly, we were told our key card got us discount at the restaurant below the hotel. We immediately went there for lunch. My husband is a vegan and some items on menu said "vegan option available" We asked what that meant for the salad Nicoise. Waiter said "it is without egg or tuna". I asked if they replaced them with anything else? He said No. I asked if they reduced the price accordingly. He said No. We left and did not eat at either of the hotel's associate restaurants after that! Rest of stay was fine, breakfast excellent and cleaning first class. Would have appreciated better instructions for finding the hotel from the Sea Gate than "the hotel is 60ms away". In which direction? I had to ask a policeman. "60ms left of the gate" would have made it easy.... Taxi transfer from Kotor to speedboat a bit weird. Got a message from the Bozica hotel that morning to say driver couldn't meet us at Sea Gate, we had to find our way to the bus station instead... We had seen taxis in the SG layby so not sure what his prob was... We are able bodied with not much luggage and had Google Maps, but another holiday maker might be a bamboozled by this. Also, we weren't warned that taxi would only take us to Croatian border, and that we'd have to get out, pass thro border on foot with our luggage and wait ten mins on other side for another taxi. Bit inefficient. Bozica hotel lovely if a bit "end of season feel" ie run out of a few things. But loved the spot and had a great time. Sorry to leave.”

“I can highly recommend this company, they were very helpful and professional all the way through. Our holiday was amazing. Whilst away we had a problem with one of hotels, load music from a local bar, I called Balkan Escapes the next morning and they arranged for a different hotel, hassle free. I can’t thank them enough.”

“Good cooperation for questions / queries about the proposed holiday was appreciated this made it easy to facilitate the final decision. The final itinerary was good and informative. The booking process was explained and made easy for required information. Required information boarding passes, transfers and bookings are all provided in good time. President Valamar in Dubrovnik was great with all the facilities you could want. Great experience friendly staff and a good level of service Hotel Marko Polo by Aminess in Korcula ok as a base to explore. Facilities and room tired in need of updating. The room was dark you could easily see bits that needed attention. Bit of a musty carpet smell. The floor flooded in the bathroom when trying to use the shower. Some staff are a bit off-putting and short when asking questions not helpful. Would reconsider a stay here. Corrected transfer time on return leg pick up from hotel was picked up by Jack in plenty of time. Would book again and recommend Balkan. Jack and Kayleigh were good. Overall had a good experience. Croatia was great. Should have checked out Hotel Marko Polo better for the second centre as when there we saw other options.”

“Balkan Escape took a lot of detailed care to put together an excellent package within our budget which met our wishes to visit Split and Dubrovnik, linking the two cities by ferry. The background advice on where to visit etc. was very helpful, pre-departure ‘paperwork’ was comprehensive and arrived in a timely fashion. Our last-minute queries were handled with great efficiency and understanding. All the pick-up and transfer arrangements worked perfectly, and the hotels were in superb locations and certainly merited their 4 star status. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would highly recommend Balkan Escape to others.”

“Our trip to Croatia met all our expectations. All transfers were as planned, even though our outward flight was delayed by a couple of hours. We liked the three hotels we stayed in and staff were helpful, from carrying luggage to booking trips. It was unfortunate there were building works going on outside the hotel in Dubrovnik which meant taxis would not drive down the main road outside the hotel, though a member of hotel staff helped us take our luggage to a meeting point for the return airport transfer. We would book with Balkan Escape again, only suggestion would be to provide a printed copy of your itinerary that includes flight info etc with paperwork sent prior to departure.”

“The whole booking process and holiday itself were first class. Everything was very well laid out and printed itinerary clear to read through. The holiday itself was excellent. Taxi pick ups, all hotels were first class. No issues at all. We had a lovely time and will definitely use Balkan Escapes again”
