“Disappointing. I ordered a tray of mixed Auriculas by mail. Little variety. Two pairs were the same and most were the same centre colour. I emailed and the reply was not very helpful.”

“Quality of plants was very good, However out of 4 hellebores ordered 2 were incorrect and not what I ordered. Sent email too Ashwood to tell them of the mistake but received no reply.”

“The plant arrived well packaged but I was disappointed to find a wound on the stem, like a side shoot had been torn away - I hope this won't be detrimental in the long term - also I was disappointed at the lack of root growth, I'll certainly have to leave it in the pot for the rest of the season while it becomes established, so not that happy!”

“The heather plants were healthy and of good size, so deserved a good or very good rating. However, there was some difficulty with the order. After submitting it, I received an email saying that one of the heathers was out of stock, so I chose another one to replace it. However, after changing the order, I received another email saying that they had told me the wrong one was out of stock. I would have chosen another replacement, if I had known that.”

“Great plants, easy to buy and find but despatch needs improving as I wasn't impressed by the way the plants where packed in newspapers and squashed in. When I opened up the box alot of the soil was coming out, maybe use a plastic bag around the pot to help keep soil in and maybe use a plastic lid to protect the plant from being damaged as there great plants but the way they are despathed lets the product down.”

“Ordered 2 Salvia Amistad . Delivery was very quick and efficient One of the plants was severely "pot bound" with yellowing leaves - bit disappointing Overall , I would use again”

“The two shrubby Salvias that I ordered arrived in good time and were expertly packaged. One of the shrubs was in good condition and had a good root system so I expect excellent growth. The other shrub had many brown leaves on it and when tipped out of its pot in order to plant, most of the soil fell away from a very small amount of roots. I have planted the second shrub and being an optimist and a bit green fingered, I expect it to survive. Hopefully the next time I purchase from this nursery I will be able to give a higher rating.”

“I placed you down on rating as the "Enkan" looks quite unwell. When we came to pot it on into a suitable potting medium the tree was difficult to remove due to the solid soil it was in. When we came to get the whole root ball out it was quite apparent that the tree was tightly packed but had no root structure of any significance as all the soil fell away leaving a rather small darkened root structure. We have potted it into ericaceous compost as we do for all our Acers (10) some held over 20 years and have crossed our fingers that it shoots. At the moment there are a couple of shoots but growth is very slow and this may be down to the cold snap we have been experiencing. I will however report back as to its survival or otherwise. The other 2 Acers seem fine and thriving.”

“THE PLANTS WERE IN EXCELLENT ORDER, PACKAGED WELL, AND THE ON LINE STAFF HELPFUL AND PLEASANT TO DEAL WITH--UNFORTUNATELY THE DELIVERY WAS AN ABSOLUTE DISASTER. FIRST DELIVERY LATE PROMISED JUST AFTER MIDDAY DELIVERED AT 19.30 HOURS. THE SECOND DELIVERY AFTER THREE PROMISES I AM STILL WAITING.”

“Ordering process was quick and easy but plants disappointingly small. I had ordered from Ashwood last year but nothing like the plants i got then. The description said they would flower this year but .......”

“Did send item promptly but it was not what I ordered. Having informed them I was offered an alternative to the item ordered, as the original was not in stock, and told to keep the first item with the company's compliments. Would have preferred to be informed at point of ordering that original item was no longer in stock, or it should be updated on the website. However, the customer service was excellent and resolved quickly.”

“We ordered a quantity of 4 conifers from the Ashwood website, it took a week from "dispatch" and then the delivery date was changed by the courier. The website stated that the height of the conifers were 4 foot tall. The height of the box which was delivered was 4 foot, but when the box was opened, the 4 conifers were only approx 1foot 6" tall, is this correct, is the website stating incorrect information??? Looking forward to your reply.”

“The plants arrived packed in a box with protective styrofoam, which was great, however, the plants themselves were packed in newspaper, which did not protect them very well amongst each other. Some of the plants look quite bashed and have broken leaves, unfortunately.”

“It's very good ti see you can buy a lot of plants and beautiful flowers but actually it's a pity that the delivery costs for Italy are so huge, thus I decided to buy only seeds!! You should try to decrease the delivery cost as it seems quite unsustainable to pay for the delivery more than you pay for the desired flowers!”

“Never actually bought anything! Asked to be e-mailed when Skimmia Japonica Magic Marlot was back in stock - which I was - so ordered the day I got the e-mail, only to be e-mailed back that it was out of stock again! Very frustrating!”
