“Quick delivery, very well packaged. The plant was very healthy but maybe a bit leggy.”

“The plants arrived quickly and were well packed and in very good condition, in fact larger plants than I had really expected. However I think you should know that in spite of all the blurb on the courier's e-mail about not leaving them in a "safe place" the box was left on my front doorstep, no card was put through and although I was at home I didn't hear the doorbell. Luckily I found them quickly but we don't actually use our front door that much so it could have been an issue.”

“Seemed to be straightforward, ordering an amelanchier but I was amazed how quickly it arrived! I hadn’t begun to plan out how I’d deal with it but managed to get it planted and it’s budding nicely. The packaging was damaged on delivery and the supporting cane snapped but the plant itself was fine so I was happy to accept it”

“Excellent service and good delivery/packaging. Slightly disappointed with the male holly. The rootball not as good as the female holly and a few dodgy leaves had to be snipped off. Hopefully it’ll be ok once it gets going.”

“The purchasing service was easy, vouchers arrived super quick and they are presented nicely to give as a gift. I did call to speak to someone in the tearoom about prices of items so I’d know how much to buy in vouchers. She told me she was too busy to talk. I called back after 3pm as she requested, and she was quite rude, couldn’t be bothered to find out prices for me and “didn’t know just odd the top of her head”. After some persistence, she gave me the information I needed, but she made sure I knew she was annoyed by my questions.”

“Ordered a calendar but received a couple of brochures instead. I quickly received a reply when I pointed out the error and was assured that a calendar would be put in the post the next working day.”

“The plants were left on the doorstep in full view of passerby and they were apparently despatched on 20th October but didn't arrive until the 24th. However they were still in reasonable condition if a bit dry and revived quickly when I watered them and look like good plants”

“I am delighted with the two Physocarpus I received last week. Both are very healthy plants of good size and shape. The packaging, not the plants, suffered in transit and when I received them the bottom of the package had almost fallen out!”

“Rose dispatched quickly but arrived in damaged box, squashed on one side and with a hole in it - obviously mis-handled by the courier company. When I expressed my concern the delivery man said "It'll be ok; they always are" and then proceeded to roughly open the box. I had to tell him to be more careful in case he damaged the plant. Fortunately, the rose seems to be ok. I suppose time will tell if it has been crushed in any way. Barbara Clarkson, #44, BB3 1BY”

“All plants supplied from ashwood have been healthy and a good size. Prices are fair, and although postage is pricey, it is efficient and speedy. This is by far the best mail order nursery I have used.”

“I was able to order a plant that I could not find anywhere else. The price was reasonable and the plant itself is very good. The only reason I gave 4 rather than 5 stars is that I thought the delivery charge was a bit high. The plant came sooner than I'd expected and was well packed. Overall, I am very pleased.”
