I would just like to say that even the survey was what we wanted. Merry Anderson was very professional and knew the subject of the survey. I thought Merry's manner was a credit to Arbtect Kind Regards Paul Cooper.

I am very impressed with the work produced by Arbtech as represented by the case officer Greghus Gage who has produced a clear and concise report and tree constraints plan and has also been very quick to respond to follow up queries etc .

We have used Arbtech for both Arbs and Eco surveys, which is now needed for planning. Right from the begining, the process has been faultless. The whole work has been under the leadership of Merry Anderson. Merry has kept us informed all the way through. Merry is dedicated to her job (not the norm today)not only on the practical work that had to be done on site, but all the battles with our council and then all the write ups that had to be done,to satisfy the council, such a tedious and time consuming task It has been a pleasure to work with Merry who responds very quickly, and deals with matters immediatly. There has never been a period of waiting around for answers or for getting somerhing done. Usually it is an up hill battle to get any company to do anything quickly these days. Well done in every way to Merry, she is a credit to the company. Also all the other staff of Arbtech that we have encountered have been good. Will recommend Arbtech to anyone who needs surveys of this kind to be done for planning. Well done Merry.

Arbtech provides a very professional and efficient service, and were very easy to deal with. I had an Arboricultural Survey and a Preliminary Ecological Assessment done. The surveyors (Alan Smith and George Collier) were very friendly and informative whilst being thoroughly professional and supportive of what I needed for the planning application. They were very quick to respond to my queries via email and always provided the information/response requested in a timely manner. I would use them again and strongly recommend their services.

Having used multiple different ecology companies over the years the use of Arbtech was a refreshing change. The speed of initial response was great. The fee proposal was very competitive. Even more importantly the work was undertaken really quickly enabling our planning application to be submitted. Already talking to the team about the next project...

Planning orientated and not very practical when it comes to dealing with fast-moving refurbishment projects. The preliminary Roost assessment didn't tell us anything we didn't already know and costs were misleading. All we wanted was a clear answer on whether a bat roost was present. The project was delayed by a month when there were no bats present. A more practical surveyor was able to conduct very quick emergence surveys to give us an almost instant answer allowing our project to proceed!

Hi Angus. The surveys we provided were done in accordance with best practice guidelines. They must be done this way to be accepted by your planning authority. We provided a report showing our recommendations - additional surveys were needed. The initial survey would have been needed no matter which surveyor you chose or what type of project you were working on.

We were very poorly advised from the outset. if we had been given the proper advice we would have gone straight for the full survey rather than having a preliminary survey which added £700 to the total cost.

Hi Jennifer. You were advised correctly. In accordance with professional survey guidelines (Collins, 2016) a Preliminary Roost Assessment is the first stage in the bat survey process. You need a Preliminary Roost Assessment to identify roost features that bats might use as well as evidence of roosting bats. This is used to assess the roost value of the building for bats which, in turn, dictates the number of additional surveys that are necessary (if any) to establish roost presence/absence and to characterise any roosts present as well as the number of surveyors required to provide full coverage of the building. As part of the planning process, the LPA will expect to see a Preliminary Roost Assessment alongside any further bat surveys that may be required to determine a planning application, and it is a necessary first step to conserve bats and their roosts which are protected by law.

The service I received from Merry Anderson was excellent in every way. She helped me to understand the bat conservation status of my property and showed great sensitivity in explaining my responsibilities in relation to the sale of my property. However I have one criticism. Your booking site is cumbersome. I had problems arranging the survey.

Natalie and team , advised me on bat species Locations and the process for obtaining a Natural England Licence at my home in Itchenor . The advice was clear and the surveys were completed on time . The bat crew were very pleasant to deal with while keeping to a very professional approach . I would be happy to recommend them

Dreadful service. Very expensive, slow, extremely unclear and misleading T&Cs. Do not choose the so-called "Rapid" service - your report could take 3 weeks (or more) to be received. Will never use again, and make sure no one I know does either.
