The driver refused to deliver an oven due to H&S risk of carrying down 12 steps to my basement. The oven was a like for like replacement and clearing no issue before. The customers services phone operator was clearly conflicted but had to go with the drivers unwarranted fear. She was fantastic but I cancelled the order as I didn’t want a repeat experience. I am usually a fan a ao but sadly not this time. I hope they manage to find more agreeable drivers.

The appearance of alot of your vans is disgusting. Looks as though they have been pulled out the local scrapyard ! Do you not realise appearance is everything. Your crews have no I.D. which is totally unprofessional in this day & age. With no uniform how do people know they are genuine ? A.O should be ashamed !!!!

I have purchased a Beko washing maschine on the 24th of Nov and it was due for delivery today (2nd of Dec). On the 26th of Nov I have received an email from AO informing me that my delivery date was updated and it will be delivered on the 12th of Dec (they did not ask me if I am happy to wait until then or anything). I have contacted AO in the same day, informing them that I cannot wait until the 12th of Dec because I am due to give birth in 2 weeks and I need the washing mashine on the 2nd. The operator reassured me that the washing machine will be delivered on the 2nd. I have checked my account every day and on my account was saying that my order will be delivered on the 2nd. Because of this my husband took unpaid day off to be at home so he can carry it. Waited from 7 AM(because delivery time was 7 AM to 7PM) until 6.30 PM and contacted AO to ask why I have not received my order, to be told that I was informed on the 26th about the change. When told.the operator that I was reassured by one of their colleagues I will have it delivered on the 2nd, I was asked what was the name of the operator that I spoke to, how the h** am I suppose to remember, you should know, that's why you record every call, right? I was told that they are very sorry and I will get a full refund. S**t company, def I won't order anything from this

A very aggressive delivery man. Actually felt threatened in my own home - has left me feeling shaky. What a complete waste of my time. I've had to book a day off work to be told if I want the fridge I need to carry it myself. it's not acceptable behavior at all. I'm stunned that that has just happened in my home.

Bought a MacBook and then returned it. It took 3 months to collect it and when it was finally collected they claimed it was the wrong Macbook. When I asked them to return it they said it was thrown away. When i complained they told me to call the Police. I opened a small claims so hopefully will get my money back.

After a dissappointing start (receiving faulty goods) ao promptly exchanged the Panasonic NN-CT55JW Microwave/Oven/Grill within 3 days. Deliveries were on time; the drivers efficient and friendly. Thankfully this replacement appears to be operating as expected. I've purchased 3 Panasonic microwaves in the past. Hopefully this one will be as good. As I've only had the microwave for 3 days I will provide an update at a later stage.

Excellent service. I am a disabled fellow and got a grant for a new cooker. The 2 chaps that came and fitted it were so professional and top chaps. I am so grateful for their work and their manner. I want to say a big thank you to those 2 chaps. (16/11/2022)

Ordered a new Bosch dishwasher for delivery on 29th September 2022, waited all day for a smashed dishwasher to be installed by the delivery man who installed then left the house and only when I noticed that two of the buttons were broken with several large scratches was then when I noticed that the drain hose had a hole in it flooding my kitchen. Customer service did offer a discount of 37.50 if I kept the machine, I now have nothing to use and have to wait several days for them to deliver a new one, this isn't fair I have a 7 month old baby to look after.... After further investigation by use of next door CCTV you can see his assistant drop the appliance then still try and install it knowing it's damaged..... Very poor on all aspects, even customer service is condescending and don't care, I will be issuing a county court claim for the damage caused to my floor and kitchen units.....

Truly dreadful. Simply does not care. Staffed by robots. We have been trying to resolve an issue since February. Rather than trying to help AO treats it as a complaint (which gives them 8 weeks to respond). Spoiler alert: they are not at fault. None of which helps fix our problem. In the meantime AO and NewDay demand payment for a finance agreement they cannot and refuse to evidence. It is shocking, shoddy, careless and immoral stuff. And the products are terrible and unreliable. Buy from anyone else, a hobbit in the woods or a man selling door to door, anyone would be more decent and more moral than AO.

As useless as John Lewis in the end. Chose them because I needed a new washing machine very urgently and they could deliver in 48 hours. JL wanted a week or two. Same price as everywhere else, reasonable fees for installation (could do it myself, couldn't be bothered) and to take the old machine away. Score 5 stars for pre-service. Easy website to use, good communication on delivery. Delivery itself fine - brilliant driver and assistant, machine installed fine. PROBLEM: Paid in advance for old machine to be taken away. Driver said no room on van as we were very early 7am delivery. He spoke to his "Driver Line" and passed the phone to me, so I spoke to them as well. Initially I was happy to leave the machine in the back garden (we are not chavs who want used appliances out front - a security risk as well as unsightly). BUT "Driver Line" told me they would pick up any time between 7am and 7pm the next day. Meaning having to hang around very early on a Saturday morning and all day to open the back gate for access. Getting a text 30 mins before doesn't really cut it, does it? And 2 days running as well. Now, AO made the mistake - and it is a very regular thing, the driver tells me. The VERY LEAST you would expect is that they would bend over backwards to find a confirmed time slot to put things right. But NO. This outfit is totally robotic in customer service. Actually, not customer service - they don't do that - I mean, in their system for dealing with their victims, I mean, customers. Upshot was I agreed to the chav option, machine sitting outside right now, so at least it will be collected without further disturbance. Asked the "Driver Line" to get customer service to call me between 9am and 10am, so was delighted to get a call at 9.10am from a friendly man. Turns out he wanted to sell me extra insurance (don't do it folks, "Consumer Rights Act 2015" gives you 6 years cover, free of charge, and a local repairman is far cheaper). Told him I was expecting Customer Services. He put me through, and I spoke to someone after 15 minutes on hold. They refunded my "collection fee" but as for actual compensation for stress, time and hassle? A long exchange of views - me talking over the person who just constantly repeated herself and even got the item I purchased wrong at one point - made me understand they don't give £75 or even £55 or basically cash back. Nor an extended guarantee. Oh, and the hilarious hopeless accused me of phoning the company before they had a chance to call me!!!! When they were the ones who called but not for the right reason. We did stay talking until 10am just to see if anyone would call me back. They did not. When "Driver Line" said "OK" to calling me between 9 and 10am, guess he was just trying to be agreeable rather than actually do anything (now there IS a surprise with this lot). They do own the mistake, but not the fact it makes the company look terrible or wastes the victim (not customer, remember, this company doesn't have them)'s time. Eventually got a £30 voucher code out of them, and person even said "I won't bother sending that" as I said I probably won't use AO again anyway. But did so anyway in the end. Probably won't use it, may pass it on to somebody I can't stand so that they can. Deeply regret trying AO. With John Lewis as bad, I guess my local Euronics or Independent gets a try next, or maybe Hughes which I think are owned by the impeccable Richer Sounds. There is a reason AO are going bust - they really don't have a clue about making customers happy and strangle the service staff who could do so. Avoid this circus. The extra star was due to the actual driver and assistant, or this would be a one star review. UPDATE: Gets worse. Machine left outside at THIER SUGGESTION and against my advice that it was a SECURITY RISK. Just 2 hours later it was targeted by scrap metal man who thought he could help himself to it, meaning it would not be recycled. AO are happy to expose their customers to street crime if you buy from them, too. It just gets better, doesn't it. If you just want a washing machine without any hassle this is NOT the company to buy it from. FINAL UPDATE: A second load of "scrap metal" dealers just stole the machine while I wasn't watching. Now 20 minute phone wait to tell AO not to bother trying to collect it. Yes, I have some manners, though why I am bothering I am not sure. And guess what. Told them. They couldn't care less. No compensation, another 20 minutes wasted. Writing to the Company Secretary now, just so I feel I have sounded off at everyone possible. May as well, as they have wasted so much of my time another 15 minutes to cut and paste this won't do any harm. 1 day later: AO did not cancel the pick-up, so a van turned up 11.20am. Can't even get that right- so customer service woman lied about that as well. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.

Had occasion to contact one of your telephone receptionists called Sonia. I could not pay a high enough compliment for her advice and exemplary manner. A credit to the company AO. Barry Speed

I had an issue with a washing machine ordered from Boots (via ao.com) the machine purchased was too wide (not as dimensions on website including door and dials) and also dials caused issue (outside width) when opening a draw. AO customer service were brilliant in sorting out a replacement, Vicky was very helpful with sorting replacement suggestions, arranging the collection and delivery of the product(s) The difference in payment was dropped into my account within 3 days of exchange The delivery guys were very helpful and great at testing before leaving. Thank you will definitely purchase from ao again.

Horrendous, "Computer Say's NO, attitude. I have never come across such incompetence before. I skipped customer service and just went straight to complaints. A debacle covering, 3 machines, 3 installation services (trained monkeys would be more effective) and pathetic, withering platitudes stating that we will fix everything, do not be concerned! Well order refused and now considering legal action due to blatant fire risk of mentioned Installation Service Personnel.

I have ordered a AEG washer dryer from AO.com, including full installation and set up of the machine. The machine has been set up unlevelled and experienced problems in operation. There have been four different drivers sent from AO.com to level the machine but none of them came with spirit level so they were unable to check and level the machine. This has wasted four full days of me waiting for the drivers to visit me (including weekdays, which I took days off work). At the end, I have been contacted by AO.com with the offer of my machine to be replaced with new one, and to be compensated for the wasted time. I have sent an email to agree on that offer. However, extremely disappointing, the AO replied back to me that they do not have in stock the AEG machine I have purchased from them, so they cannot provide me a replacement. That really hit me and disappointed me as per the controversial information different AO agents sent me. I have bought the machine at a big discount time. So even I get full refund from AO, I have to pay additional money (more than £200) to buy the same machine from alternative retailer to cover the price gap. Hence, now it is not possible for me to buy the same machine from another retailer at the same price and I have to suffer monetary loss. I really regret for purchasing my washer dryer from AO and I would strongly recommend noone to use their service!

Tried to deliver goods before the allotted hour but no one was home, couldn't re-schedule for another weekend so had to agree to a Tuesday morning. Spoke to customer resolution department who offered me compensation but wouldn't refund the cost of the install/delivery.

Extremely dissappointed by AO.com. First they accept responsibility of the damage caused by the fitter and offer £100 for causing damage. When I reject their offer because it didn't cover the costs of repair, they pushed the blame onto me by saying my cupboard (unlinked) was already damaged, and refused to pay for the damage caused by the fitter because now wear and tear played a part and they claim that the grease around the border is burnt wood. AO.com has cost me in the region of £740+ in costs for calling out a qualified electrician and a carpenter to replace the damaged worktop and safely fit the new hob. Cost of the Hob? £154 Cost for fitting and takeaway: £120 (Refunded) Total cost to fix the damage and call in the experts £586's and not to mention loss of time having to phone around to find the right people for the job. Better to do some research and find the right people to fit your appliances and get things done properly. Total cost to replace an electric hob: £740. Call an expert from the start and stop getting ripped off by AO.com who is taking work away from real tradespeople and replacing them with non-experts. Extremely dissappointed by AO.com.
