Awful experience! Our boxes were too large supposedly (even though that's the biggest size u can select) so the driver refused to fit what he could in the space allocated and was only going to take 5 items in the end so we made the mistake of cancelling which has led to no compensation whatsoever and being ghosted by customer service. If I'd allowed them to take the 5 items they'd no doubt have said they provided a service and would still have given no compensation. Avoid this company!

This was my third time using AnyVan and I can confidently say it will also be my last. I requested to have two people (a driver and a helper) as I needed to move heavy furniture I could not move myself. One of the guys they sent behaved like it was his first ever day at the job - did not have a clue on how to safely lift furniture. They both tried to fit my kitchen table through the main door, realised it was too big, hit the nearby radiator and knocked it off the wall causing it to leak as the tubing was broken. Since I was a tenant at the property I was moving from, I had to call my agency, explain and ask for a plumber. Nevertheless to say, I had to pay for the plumber services myself. I submitted the invoice to AnyVan as soon as I received it but their answer was simply "sorry, it's past the 7 days!". I can't recall ever sending a complaint letter or writing a bad review online but I think their policy is absolutely unacceptable. I cannot express my disappointment for the overall service provided and for the lack of any sense of responsibility. I understand we all have to start somewhere in our line of job but it's a company's responsibility to ensure you are provided with the appropriate level of training, especially as this could result in ruining somebody else's property. I would have given it -5 stars but this was not possible.

I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the recent van rental service I received from your company. I requested a van to move my home and asked for a video call to show all the items to avoid any misunderstandings and breakdown of communication, and to get a proper quote. I received a quote from your representative, and I agreed to it. However, on the day of the move, your team refused to move my American-style fridge, despite it being clearly visible in the video call. This resulted in additional costs of £70, which I was forced to pay. Moreover, the van that they sent was much smaller than what was agreed upon. This caused a great deal of inconvenience to me as I had to go through the entire process again and wasted a lot of time.

This company takes 60% commission of what the client pay, driver gets 40% and need to pay tax from it and other costs. My van value is £36k and money you can earn with them won't even pay for the van itself, not mentioning servicing the van, fuel cost and making profit for living and for your future? They do not have their own fleet so the driver's vans who do jobs for them are being exploited! Drivers are working hard whole day and they pay you around £150 to £220 to go across UK doing like 300 miles a day leaving you empty on the delivery side and as I've said the driver pays for the fuel from his own money, insurance is on you, van maintenance etc, on YOU! If you work there you must be desperate.

AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. I had booked to move 3 things.... king sized bed frame/mattress... This went perfectly.... A chest of drawers.... This went perfectly.... A double sized wardrobe.... This is where the hot mess of a journey begins. First collection, paid for removal/delivery and dismantle and assemble of all items.... The drivers didn't have time to dismantle/assemble my wardrobe on the drop time they were given. They contacted their head office and said it would 'take all day'. They had 5 other jobs to go to for the rest of the day. The head office had then asked me if I could rebook a team to dismantle and deliver for a few days later. I said sure, they refunded the dismantle/deliver but charged me a new bill for the newest delivery. So, I was out of pocket and had no wardrobe delivered and built on time. The 2nd delivery team arrived 3 days later and turned up 2 hours earlier than scheduled because ' my wardrobe would take a lot longer to dismantle and assemble than their other jobs'. So, a 2 hour early start and first issue with the drivers is that the wardrobe is 'too tall'. The driver asked if I had a stool/ladder, which I replied I hadn't because I was in the process of moving. His abrupt ' well I won't be able to complete your job' left me speechless so I drove to my new hone to get a step ladder to drive back to the old home. What team comes unequipped for a job!? Awful. So, out of pocket again by travel time/petrol just so the driver can COMPLETE the job he has accepted. On to the assembly, I was asked to help take lighter parts of the wardrobe up the stairs of my new building to which I didn't mind. I was then asked to help fiigure out HOW to assemble the wardrobe......... My face said it all. If I had known how to assemble this wardrobe I would have moved these pieces by MYSELF and completed the assembly MYSELF. The driver and the drivers mate were absolutely clueless on how to piece the wardrobe back together. They had managed to attach a side of the wardrobe to it's base before trying to attach the opposite side and rough handling it SO much that the area in which the side joined to the base had become damaged. The driver then replied ' I won't be able to complete your job ' and rang his head office to explain why..... I took pictures of the damage and was asked to make a claim through their customer care. The driver said ' oh this will be easy to replace, £50 at most, once you replace the base, you have my number... ring me and I will assemble for you. The damage claim policy is awful for people who experience any type of damage to their goods. The customer care team just seemed to repeat off script how to process a claim and had lack of empathy or compassion for the situation. It's like they continuously get these calls and had become robotic to respond in such a lifeless manner. The customer care team then sent a long list for a claim, to which I filled out accordingly. I then received an email stating that the company is not forcing the liability claim upon the driver so I will not be entitled to a refund.... The best option they can give me is a £50 refund. There was no solution to help finding a fix to the problem, even though stated in the customer care email that if 'it is possible to be fixed....' I was left again out of pocket and to this day as I write this, with a wardobe in pieces. I was hoping for a quick resolution to my issue and when over a week after my wardrobe was scheduled on the first van to be dismantled, delivered and assembled I am still awaiting my very insulting £50 refund. I had contested the result in which they chose to refund me just £50, but they were saying 'anyvan does not take any responsibility for any damage UNLESS you PAY MORE to have a "bigger' insurance of your items. Yet, they can just say ' we won't hold the drivers accountable ' and that will be another claim form to which you are out pocket and with damaged items. I have managed to find a fix for my wardobe, for £75..... My builder came to inspect the damage, he then told me the peice they had attached to the base WAS UPSIDE DOWN!!!!!!!! HOW! HOW IS THIS COMPANY ABLE TO HIRE SUCH FOOLS!!!!!!!!!! AVOID ANYVAN. No professionalism, no expertise,.no compassion, no customer service or resolution. It should take 3-5 working days for a refund and it's been nearly a week. Contacted again and was told 'another 3-5 working days, sorry for the delay'. Utter disgrace of a company. Will never use again. If you own a van and 1 screwdriver then you are qualified to work for anyvan, don't worry about knowledge and expertise, anyvan will not hold you accountable for any mistakes that happen. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.

Please be careful when booking with AnyVan. You are better off booking a local man and van. They craftily have disguised their measurements guide system. You tick the box for the size of your items, and would not even know there is a measurement guide. They will send a small van for a whole house move!!! Rude staff Emma. Please avoid this company. This is the first time I am ever giving a negative feedback to any company. It’s that bad. Thank you.

Appalling service with ANYVAN. I contacted them and was continually asked for payment. I felt very pressured and paid, specifically requested a pick up time between 11am and 4pm from a furniture shop. I was told my pick up would be in the morning and be delivered by the afternoon. Imagine my upset when I discovered the next morning, through tracking sytem, that the driver was in London and had 5 more pick ups before mine and would under no circumstances be able to make it before 4pm. I contacted the driver who couldn't help and seemed very confused and said he might still make it (obviously knowing he wouldn't). I then phoned the Company and the person I spoke to was unbelievably rude and abrupt. He said 'how do you know how long it'll take him?' I explained that I was very aware of the time it takes to drive from central London and on top of that he had 5 other stops. He then blamed me for not picking an hourly time. I then explained I had specific stated times and had an email to prove this. He said he needed to ring the driver and I said no ive already spoken to the driver and told him what the driver said. He ignored me and let me on hold for 8 minutes. He then said that he have to rebook and charge me extra for it! I said there was no way I'd pay for something that was their fault. I then asked to cancel and have a full refund. The man refused and told me to 'check the small print' . I then asked to speak to his manager. He then put me back hold for ages. I eventually spoke to someone and explained how angry I was and how appalling I had been spoken to. He also asked how did I know the driver wouldnt be there on time? After another 5 minute conversation I told him I had the names of the companys CEO( Angus Elphinstone), the Managing director (Marc Clifton) and another manager Pathiq Trivedi. I asked his name and then he became very apologetic and I got an instant refund. I said I wanted the telephone coversation listen to and I wanted to make a further complaint. He said he would and I've never heard of the company since. I would never use or recommend this company. I then had no sofa to sit on and had to pay extra to have someone else deliver it ASAP.

These people take incompetence to a higher level! Having decided I don't need their service, I responded by text to a text message to that effect and again to an email. These were not noted and when they called by phone I said the same thing. Yet I am still getting more emails from them asking for a response... Totally useless!

Sorry, this is a long one. 1st March 2023 I booked a small pickup and delivery from Stamford to Wakefield, over a week ago, for this morning. It was for vintage furniture with sentimental value and I’d waited 6 weeks to be able to pick it up. I’d travelled from West Yorkshire the night before for an early pickup, and had only today to do it. Despite giving the correct address and postcode, plus extra information, the van driver went to the wrong address. When it became obvious that the van wasn’t coming I contacted AnyVan to be told that I’d need to rearrange the pickup and would be charged 50% extra, which I refused as it was their fault. Eventually a lady from customer care phoned me and after a lot of discussion offered me the service, firstly the next day, then this afternoon, both impossible as I had to be back here. Their reason for trying to evade responsibility was that the van driver had phoned me and I didn’t answer. I asked for a refund, plus my expenses; she agreed to a refund but not the expenses. So now I’m out of pocket by £30 and don’t have my furniture. I’m furious at the sheer ineptitude of this company. If you need an efficient removal service I’d strongly recommend you avoid AnyVan like the plague. Date of experience: 01 March 2023

AVOID this company if you don't want your furniture ruined - I would give 0 if I was able. Hired this company to move a Victorian wardrobe. This had original latches, locks and material lining inside. Wardrobe was dismantled carefully by owner for ease of transport by courier. The wardrobe is over 100 years old and has survived intact in a beautiful condition. It was in the care of two AnyVan movers for 1 hour of its life. It now has 5 rips to the original victorian material lining, several deep scratches and lumps taken out of the wood and only 1 latch and lock as the 2nd has been smashed off and is now missing. I am completely shocked and can't quite believe this could be possible. I expected the doors to have been wrapped for safe keeping, but looking at the state of them can only assume they were thrown in the back of the van. One of them has white paint on the surface, so again I assume just thrown in on the floor of the van. Appalling! I paid twice as much as other quotes, in order to avoid this(!), believing the good Trust pilot reviews. I would say go with a reputable local courier (I wish I had), as this company are large, looks like they get local van drivers with no reputation who have not been vetted or trained to move items carefully. You run the risk of landing up with a courier you wouldn't employ yourself if you were able to check their history. You pay for trust, AnyVan. This is not acceptable. I trusted you to move something old and beautiful and you used movers who damaged it without any care or thought. Anyone reading this, please take this warning seriously. This is not a company to be trusted with your belongings. I took out the extra insurance offered. Be warned! When I phoned AnyVan to report this they told me there is nothing they can or will do now, as it is an issue for the insurer. They really were not interested in the situation or how to resolve it. Take it up with the insurer, as it is a 'damage claim' there is nothing more we can do. They wouldn't even agree to ask the driver to check his van to see if the original brass handle and latch that has been broken off was still in there, preventing me from even trying to have it repaired/ restored. No enquiry as to the performance of the movers or the resultant damage. I'm so gutted. The wardrobe was beautiful. I've been looking for one with no damage, scratches and all original for over a year and was delighted when I found it and won the bid. AnyVan are responsible for multiple points of damage to the item, irreparable and ruined after over 100 years of being looked after! Disgraceful! No refund, no care taken, no thought. Don't use this company. Do you want to take the risk you might have the same experience? I trusted them. You will too. Don't make the same mistake as I did. Choose another, better, more reliable and trustworthy company who will, if in the unlikely event of damage (you would assume!!!) would do everything in their power to put it right. Not this lot. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! I totally disagree with the description made by AnyVan on this page. Save up to 75% on deliveries and removals (not true my charge was twice that of other local couriers that I now wish I had gone with. I trusted this bigger MORE EXPERIENCED company to my regret) No matter what you are moving; from a King-Sized bed to a framed picture of the Queen; a Grand Piano to a classic Ford Capri; we’ll take care of it all the way from Penzance to Peterhead and beyond. (This is not true - multiple points of irreparable damage caused by YOUR 'trusted team') We do this by marrying people looking to move something with our trusted team of AnyVanners (I would like to know what this trust is based on? As your judgement is extremely poor) They are equipped with the knowledge and expertise to go the extra mile. (Not true - my item was damaged in numerous ways at numerous places - can't understand how this could be possible if your claim is true.) And our customer team are always on hand to ensure there is a friendly person to guide you through the journey. (I spoke with two different people across the day as I discovered all of the damage. They were polite, but, and this is crucial, in the end said they could do no more other than say that I make a claim on the extra insurance I bought. Terrible service. Not helpful at all. In the end, when left with a totally ruined 100 year old UNIQUE piece of furniture which started the journey in excellent condition for its age and ended up irreparably damaged they offered no support of any kind, no attempt to resolve, no attempt to locate the damaged and missing items (insurer will investigate in up to 7days!) or even, at the very least, an offer of any kind of refund by way of apology! They are in control of vetting their 'trusted and experienced team'. Something went seriously wrong here and they do/ did nothing in response).

Totally avoid at all costs. These are cowboys. Got a call night before move to be told that I needed to pay another £81 as I didn’t tell them what floor my flat was on. They took money out of my account 3 days before move as well. Guess what no refund policy as well. They are not a company just a dodgy middle man who sub lets jobs out. These could do a movie with John Wayne. Total avoid at all costs please please please. This company needs to be closed down. SCAMMERS!!!!!

If I could give negative stars I would. Absolutely horrendous experience - avoid at any cost. Supposedly large company and made out they do it all - but essentially farms out the work to other companies and takes no responsibility for the removal companies they send to help. Initially, I went through the inventory with the sale team to set up the job - it was all very relaxed and casual and they helped estimate boxes etc. based on the house size as we were not packed up - all just to get the job booked. Without writing an essay - they let me know less than an hour before arrival time, they had no team - team showed up 3 hours late - some of the team arriving after we were due to legally be out of our home. On arrival they wanted more money. They used no carpet protection in either house and dirtied cream carpets. The dropped an almost new chest of drawers down the stairs, numerous breakages totaling £500+ - they have offered £40 compensation as said each item they broke wasn't itemised and they didn't carry - which is completely untrue as this was all boxed up and bubble wrapped. Who has time to itemise each item within a box? GO LOCAL - AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. WOULD NEVER USE AGAIN.

The drivers damaged the communal hallway by breaking the handrail in 2 places, the hinges and by making holes and scuff marks all across the walls. Even though I purchased insurance from AnyVan they claim it's not covered, despite me sending in date and timestamped photos and having 2 witnesses. My landlord has now deducted from the damage deposit £800 to cover replacement and fit of handrails and hinges, and carry out plastering and painting to the walls. I haven't even been refunded 1p. Terrible company who do not operate fairly based on principles of honesty and truth. Avoid at all costs!

Never again! I filled in my request for a quote, got one, we agreed on it, and they sent a confirmation. Then a few days before the move, they called and tried to put the price up by £120 because „they did not realise“ that I ticked the box to move a piano. After a long discussion they „only“ put the price up by £40. Because it was only a few days until the moving date and I could not get anyone else by that time I agreed. Then on the moving day the drivers where adamant that the move would be only from ground floor to ground floor. They did not accept the confirmation from their own website where it clearly said: „3RD FLOOR WITH ELEVATOR“ (yes, it was written in capitals). Next up they called the head office to complain they had „to walk 200 meters to the door“ which was a lie, they had parked the van right outside the door, less then five meters away from the door. I could not be there in person because I was called into the hospital for an urgent operation and they would not listen to my friend who was left in charge. And then the head office had the audacity to call me whilst I was in the hospital waiting for my urgent cancer surgery and demanding more money!!! I told them to get lost. They are clearly trying to take advantage of my situation, being kicked out by a greedy buy-to-let landlord and being diagnosed with cancer at the same time. If I could give zero stars that would be more honest.
