Would leave a zero score but the system won't let you, hence my having to have 1 star. Absolutely dreadful company. Rotten, mouldy produce sent each time, out of date items too, the organic biscuits by...I kid you not, over 6 months! Surly that is illegal. Charged for items not received too. Very rude so-called 'customer service'. Run a mile from this company, they are shocking, they send out of date and mouldy food that is not fit for human consumption and charge you for it too! Beggars belief!

I have been ordering regularly from this company for more than five years, and although sometimes wrong items have been sent and there have been odd things missing, the quality of their fruit and veg., and the range of other items, have made it worthwhile to carry on with them. Today, however, I am thinking of closing my account. The reason is that instead of the item I ordered, meatballs, they sent a different product, beef mince, and charged me for it. The minced beef is something I would never order, as I have a freezer well stocked with it. They did not offer me the choice of a refund, which they should have done, but I just have to accept the wrong item - and pay for it. I think this may actually be illegal. I contacted the company yesterday, when they first told me about this switch, and asked for a refund instead, but heard nothing. I complained again today, but once more I have heard nothing. We all understand that shops can run out of supplies, but we expect a refund when this happens. I can't afford to pay for items I don't want, and unless I receive a refund and an apology I will not be ordering from them again.

Absolute disgrace of a company delivery service. I used to work in deliveries for many companies, inc Parcel Force. They took my number saying driver would call me if this is what I preferred. Guess what? I did not receive any phone call !! Then a lady who I could not understand at all, called me and messed my head up. I had 3 other deliveries during the same week from other companies, and everything arrived smoothly. Just spoke to my neighbour, who said they left the parcel on their doorstep, without even knocking. So they must not have bothered knocking at my house then!!! Also they mentioned, there is no details who the parcel is for. So how the Hell is the neighbour to know whose box this is?? Are they supposed to be psychic??

I stopped ordering after I found out how the drivers are treated. The poor guys are rushed off their feet all day. Our driver looked so stressed as I saw him from the window running to drop the box. As an ethical company Abel & Cole you should be doing better. Saving a few pounds at the expense of your drivers isn't the way to go. The way they rush around their workload must be immense. Shocking to find out they don't get paid overtime despite going well over their hours most days. This isn't a small company that can't afford to pay it. They are huge. I think I my custom will go to a company that looks after their staff, not Abel & Cole.

I've been using Abel & Cole for 4 years as I decided to start a keto diet to manage my diabetes and didn't want to buy supermarket veg filled with sugar and chemicals. Their site is reasonably easy to use and you can buy individual items rather than a pre-set box or exclude certain items. They also offer some interesting meat, fish and larder items. However, they don't care at all about your custom. During covid, they dropped the option to exclude items or order individual items, and you could only order their pre-set boxes (filled with heavy starchy carb). More recently they have decided to only deliver to me before 7am and are refusing to change the time. I've had deliveries sent to my office between 9am and 1pm for 4 years, but since my 20-year-old secretary has left suddenly the driver can't come after 7am. All my items (including unrefrigerated milk) was left outside the building for 2 hrs, which I did not authorise. Their answer is to leave the box with a neighbour (this is a business park) or take my custom elsewhere...the excuse is that they care too much about their carbon footprint to return to a reasonable hour, which they managed to do for 4 years before (but don't care about collecting 3 weeks of boxes they are so proud to recycle.) They also decided to put an expiry on a £70 gift voucher and only let me have £20 of it on my account. They have not refunded the £50 to the donor either. Given they are one of the most expensive organic veg suppliers around, and that other sites like Eversfield and Riverford, are not only expanding their ranges but also offer much more flexible delivery, take your money elsewhere. Apparently they won't miss it.

I will never buy from this company, based partly on friends' views on their food but mainly based on the appalling advert. Who thinks that "Less plastics in our oceans" and "Less chemicals and vegetables" is correct grammar? Have the advertising company never heard of the word 'FEWER'? It's pathetic. I wrote a polite letter to the Abel & Cole head office 5 weeks ago but they haven't had the decency to reply. I'm sure they won't publish this review.

Take your stupidly annoying advert off the radio, why do you want people to commit suicide, what have we done to you? Nothing is what but you punish us with this disgusting song, I hope you guys go out of business just for being so annoying

I had been ordering from Abel & Cole for some time but their service has gradually gotten worse and worse. The quality of fruit and veg deteriorated, portions seem to have gotten smaller and my bills were getting higher so I stopped ordering from them. I have now been trying for over a month to get my key fob back from them and I still haven’t got it. As they’ve grown and become more commercial they lost all the things I liked about them when I first joined.

Now why would you want to purchase food/veg from this company when I watched their driver blatantly get into the back of the van and relieve himself then handle the food? He then had a quick look around and threw his waste from the van and drove off. Upon looking at the van not only did it have his urine in it his excrement also. Total disgusting. Definitely broke all food/hygiene protocols one this one. A compliant was made to Abel and Cole to get the driver back to remove his own feces but he never returned. The council have been notified.

This company used to be good when they used their own delivery van and driver. For the past 3 weeks they are obviously using a courier and the boxes when they are delivered and are all smashed up. The soft fruits on the top are all bashed about. I came home today to find the two boxes on my doorstep which is fine but the driver had just thrown the 3 bottle of heavy 2L milks on top of the box, crushing it down. When i opened the box the packets of raspberries were all mush. So inconsiderate. Also the pineapples are rock hardened that is after a week of hoping that they ripen. I will not be ordering again until their original driver and own van are back.

I would like you to avoid this company and I will not recommend to order from this company. I am first time buyer but not new to organic vegetables home delivery. I ordered first time from Abel & Cole and I received 50% of my 1st & 4th order, however there was another offer for £10 off the first 3 orders. For some reason the first offer was accepted and suddenly became not available when came to final charge. Later on the day of delivery I left clear instructions for driver to deliver to main property corridor (inside) and leave it in front of Flat 1 door. The driver left my four boxes on the street without noticing me or letting me know as I am first time buyer. On top of it my fruit box was not ready, so driver Bart decided to pack it to someone's else box with different name on the box and left it open on top of the rest of the boxes on the public street. When I contacted Abel & Cole about the delivery and missing items (eggs) the customer service contacted driver and he confirmed that he left the eggs there and that someone might help themselves to take them... I just could not believe this explanation and delivery style. I regularly order from Riverford and Milk&More but I did not have this kind of experience at all. They refunded the money at the end after my phone call, but all this looks to me very tricky from the discount codes "promotion" up to the delivery style.

As a very longstanding, but now disillusioned customer, I agree with all the 5 star reviews, so why the one star ? Whilst proclaiming to be an ethical supplier I am afraid they are not. I rang Abel and Cole to ask if they buy from farms where badger culling takes place. This is their answer : they are leaving the decision as to whether or not to kill badgers up to the farmers, and they are following the Soil Associations lead . The Soil Association also leaves the decision over killing badgers to the farmer. Since the killing began, one third of the British badger population has been shot dead, some of those on organic farms. There is a scientifically proven, and economically viable alternative : badger vaccination. Take a look at the Badger Trust or the Wildlife Trust to find out more. Abel and Cole proudly proclaims itself as an ethical supplier and it has made huge and commendable efforts to be so which is why I write this review with heartfelt sadness . But if a company claims to be an ethical supplier then they must be so.

Abel & Cole are simply the best organic food producers online! I make regular orders which are always delivered on time and perfectly chilled. The meat, eggs, milk and yoghurts are amazing quality. Would definitely recommend!

Fruits and vegetables are lovely. Love that you can change what you like in the boxes. Reducing plastic use at the same time as getting organic fruit and vegetables. What more can you ask for.

I have been having deliveries from this company for almost 12 months now. (That should tell you something)There organic veg boxes are great, so nice to be able to swap things you don't like or fancy for something you do. And the organic meat is so full of flavour and tender, also the prices are very good in comparison to what you pay in the supermarkets for non organic meats. It's great that they give you updates about the farmers that produce the meats that you are buying, you almost feel you have a connection with them. Would thoroughly recommend Able & Cole.
