“Had my range rover sport l320 engine rebuild by these guys did absolutely fantastic job and a quick turn around..... All very friendly and happy to help running the car in for the first 2000 miles...sounds silky smooth...looking forward to drive it properly.. Also thay keep u up dated the whole way through with text and pics on wahts app.... Can't fault these guys.. Thank you to all that worked on my car😊😊😊😊”

“Absolutely incredible company! What can I say! My Range Rover Sport engine just stopped working on my drive home from work in the middle of rush hour one day! I made a few phone calls to local garages and got it towed there. After a few mechanics had taken a look and speaking with them it seemed near on impossible to fix.. That was until I spoke to Ali at 4x4 Engine Rebuilds. After an initial conversation on the phone and reading 100’s of like minded reviews, Ali put my mind at rest and assured me that the vehicle was salvageable. We agreed on a price and he arranged for collection of my Range Rover to London. I’m based in Leeds so naturally I was a little nervous about sending my car over 200 miles away but I need not have worried. Within hours of collection I was sent photographs to show that my car had safely arrived with them. Day by day I received photographs of the work being done. I was initially given a time frame of 2-3 weeks however the car was fully rebuilt and ready for collection within a week! Ali and the lads at 4x4 engine rebuilds are genuinely some of the nicest and most genuine people I have ever met in my life. They are honest, down to earth and genuinely want to help. I drove down to London to collect my Range Rover and it was absolutely gleaming! They had even given it a full valet ready for my collection. Ali informed me of the steps needed to run the engine in and to get the best out of my new engine. It’s not often in this day and age that you meet such genuine people with such a caring and honest persona about themselves. True to his word the car was ready for collection and drove me over 200 miles home like an absolute dream. I urge anyone with a Range Rover that has engine issues to use this company. This is a completely honest and unbiased review and I would be happy to be contacted by anyone looking for a genuine review of this company. I’ll be doing the 500 mile round trip again in the next couple of months to get the car serviced. We pay an absolute fortune to drive these beautiful machines. This company help keep them going. Thank you again to yourself and all of your staff at 4x4 engine rebuilds. “I have been delighted with the service offered by the team at 4x4 Engine Rebuilds. After my engine failed I did a lot of online research to find the best company to fix it - one that knew what they were doing, would do a good job, offer a warranty and wouldn't charge the earth. 4x4 Engine rebuilds seemed to fit the fill, and were consistently recommended on forums. Nevertheless, it felt quite daunting paying a recovery driver to take my car away, not having met the people who would be working on it. I need not have worried. The team kept in constant contact with me over Whatsapp, updating me regularly with photos. An estimated timeframe of 4-5 weeks was given, and this was met with time to spare. On collecting the car it had been given a good clean and the newly built engine runs like a dream. I am very happy to have my car back, and to recommend this company.”

“Avoid like the plague! Im not normally one for slagging companies on line, but the last six months dealing with this crowd has been horrific and still not over yet. 6 months and returned my Range Rover Sport 4 times, at this present moment it is at their yard broken again! I have driven the vehicle for a maximum of 7 days total in 6 months between total engine failures. They are financially motivated but not keen on honouring their warranty agreement if the vehicle goes wrong. I read all the positive reviews before employing them for a complete engine rebuild, turbos and injectors. It seems that a change of management occurred in the last six months, not for the better. They do not accept payment by card so makes it harder to claim back if you have an issue. They use re conditioned engine parts but in their terms and conditions state they are not liable if they fail (completely against consumer law). I have never experienced a vehicle repair company like it in my 55 years. Total bluffers in every way, no reports on what the failures were, no feed back on progress or completion dates, trying their best to get out of spending any money to recover the vehicle or replace failed parts. They employed a third party engineer to write a report on how good the vehicle was then it failed 24 hours later, plus diesel knock, injector failure and bad turbo lag. If it sounds too good to be true, it is....currently preparing to take them to court for the 9k plus i have wasted with this company. Update: After a series of threats to charge storage on the vehicle even though it was in their yard after warranty repairs, threats to file counter court case claims and general unpleasant attitude towards a "troublesome customer" i paid £500 to have the vehicle returned to me in West Sussex. Needles to say the vehicle is still not right, still rattling like an old transit with oil or diesel spewing out of somewhere.I am genuinely at a loss what to do with this poorly rebuilt vehicle now. Do not waste your time and money with them.”

“We had a Range Rover engine rebuild. Having sent it to another garage prior who after two weeks hadn’t started the work, I was thrilled 4x4 helped me recover it to them. Their communication, speed of work, customer service and quality or work was excellent. They were helpful, extremely competent and great to work with. The engine strip and rebuild was completed well, and got a dead vehicle back on the road. I would defiantly use them again, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others.”

“Sent my beloved disco 4 from Buxton to 4x4 engine rebuilds after extensive research, these guys do exactly what they say they will, very knowledgeable and skillful, I would definitely use again, good pricing Vs others, felt very anxious in sending my car off to London as you never know, but Ali sent videos as promised as work progressed which really reassured me, great bunch of guys to, very friendly, would definitely recommend to friends and family.”

“I cooked my 2012 Discovery 4 engine when the water pump split whilst towing, I had recently had a recon engine fitted at great expense by a local garage and was at my wit's end. A friend recommended 4x4engine rebuilds and after speaking to Ali we agreed on a very reasonable price including collection from Devon. I was kept up to date by WhatsApp with pictures of my engine being removed and sorted. All in all a great service. I was nervous about sending it so far but found them to be thoroughly professional and would not hesitate to recommend them. Paddy”

“The only reason this is a five star review is because I can’t give seven. From my initial enquiry Ali was extremely helpful and from there on put everything into place for a flawless service. He kept me updated, with photographs, of the progress of the work on my Discovery 4 that had suffered catastrophic damage. Thanks to the skilled work carried out I now have the car back and it is driving beautifully. The pricing structure is clear and Ali is as honest as the day is long, though his maths may be a little dodgy. He tried to give me £1,000 back, thinking I had overpaid, but I worked it through and we confirmed I had been correct. That is one extremely honest man. I looked at several options for this repair, but am so pleased that I made the right choice.”

“We had a Discovery 4 with a seized engine. We had estimates from main dealers and specialist companies for the work ranging from 8-10K, with 6-8 weeks waiting time. 4X4 rebuilds were contacted and provided a quotation within an hour. They arranged transport from Leicester to their workshops and the car was collected a couple of days later. Ali provided daily updates backed up with photographs. During the work, some other parts were required. Ali clearly explained why those parts were needed and again backed this up with photos. The work was completed within a week and we drove the car back. It cost us a little over half of what other companies quoted. I would fully recommend Ali and his team, and would not hesitate using them in the future.”
