“These guys put the main dealerships to shame! I don't think I've seen better customer service either within or outside the motor industry than what these guys are doing. The moment I filled in the online contact form I got a call back within minutes and then received frequent updates with pictures when my engine was being rebuilt. I even messaged on whatsapp after I got the car back to ask a question and they called me straight back with an answer. It really is customer service at its finest. They also do a fantastic job of rebuilding engines and you can tell they really care about what they do. My Range Rover Sport got the dreaded crank snap and after unsuccessfully trying to get Land Rover to do something (who were trying to charge me double what 4x4 Engine Rebuilds did btw) I contacted 4x4 who managed to recover the car from 80 miles away that very day (and I contacted them in the afternoon). The job estimation was 15 working days, which I thought was very fair for such a big job, but they managed to get it done in around a week and were even working on the car on a Saturday! I got the car home last night and it's driving great. I can't recommend and thank 4x4 Engine Rebuilds enough for the amazing service and the professional, quality job they've done on my car.”

“I have been delighted with the service offered by the team at 4x4 Engine Rebuilds. After my engine failed I did a lot of online research to find the best company to fix it - one that knew what they were doing, would do a good job, offer a warranty and wouldn't charge the earth. 4x4 Engine rebuilds seemed to fit the fill, and were consistently recommended on forums. Nevertheless, it felt quite daunting paying a recovery driver to take my car away, not having met the people who would be working on it. I need not have worried. The team kept in constant contact with me over Whatsapp, updating me regularly with photos. An estimated timeframe of 4-5 weeks was given, and this was met with time to spare. On collecting the car it had been given a good clean and the newly built engine runs like a dream. I am very happy to have my car back, and to recommend this company.”

“Avoid like the plague! Im not normally one for slagging companies on line, but the last six months dealing with this crowd has been horrific and still not over yet. 6 months and returned my Range Rover Sport 4 times, at this present moment it is at their yard broken again! I have driven the vehicle for a maximum of 7 days total in 6 months between total engine failures. They are financially motivated but not keen on honouring their warranty agreement if the vehicle goes wrong. I read all the positive reviews before employing them for a complete engine rebuild, turbos and injectors. It seems that a change of management occurred in the last six months, not for the better. They do not accept payment by card so makes it harder to claim back if you have an issue. They use re conditioned engine parts but in their terms and conditions state they are not liable if they fail (completely against consumer law). I have never experienced a vehicle repair company like it in my 55 years. Total bluffers in every way, no reports on what the failures were, no feed back on progress or completion dates, trying their best to get out of spending any money to recover the vehicle or replace failed parts. They employed a third party engineer to write a report on how good the vehicle was then it failed 24 hours later, plus diesel knock, injector failure and bad turbo lag. If it sounds too good to be true, it is....currently preparing to take them to court for the 9k plus i have wasted with this company. Update: After a series of threats to charge storage on the vehicle even though it was in their yard after warranty repairs, threats to file counter court case claims and general unpleasant attitude towards a "troublesome customer" i paid £500 to have the vehicle returned to me in West Sussex. Needles to say the vehicle is still not right, still rattling like an old transit with oil or diesel spewing out of somewhere.I am genuinely at a loss what to do with this poorly rebuilt vehicle now. Do not waste your time and money with them.”

“Go to for quality rebuild on your range. Kabir is extremely knowledgeable and professional. These cars are very high maintenance and expensive when they go wrong 4x4 will save you a lot of money. No regrets.”

“I have a BMW X5 40d which I love hence 120K miles on the clock with no engine troubles until now. A rattling noise started from the engine one day unexpectedly, I took it to my usual mechanic who gave me the usual tut, tut, tut telling me this was going to be an expensive one (which I already knew) and that the job was beyond his remit - great. So I approached a local larger garage for a diagnosis - the response was "Sorry mate you have a problem in the engine which we think is piston-related it'll be about 40 hours of work, we're not equipped to carry out that type of work. We recommend 4x4 Engine Rebuilds a customer has just taken their Land Rover there and raves about them." So I picked up the phone and spoke to Kabir at 4x4 (top bloke), he listened to the problem statement and then straight away said it was the camshaft bearings. I sent the car across London on a flatbed truck, it was received and stored securely by Kabir. I visited the 4x4 garage a week later. By now I'm saying to myself I don't even know where my car is or how it's being treated. I need not worry Kabir had it secured and out of the elements under lock and key awaiting its place in the long queue. At this point Kabir advised it was going to be six weeks before I get the car back because they're so busy - I could see that with my own eyes but I was comfortable these were the guys to take care of my car. To make a long story short I entrusted 4x4 to undertake a complete engine rebuild and recondition (not cheap), they kept me updated at every step of the process with WhatsApp messages and pictures. Now I have my baby back, I'm shocked at how smooth the engine is running and let's not forget the increased torque which I'm yet to test because the new engine is being run in. 4x4 Engine Rebuilds are my guys - I will not be going anywhere else.”

“We had a Range Rover engine rebuild. Having sent it to another garage prior who after two weeks hadn’t started the work, I was thrilled 4x4 helped me recover it to them. “My 2016 landrover discovery 4 Landmark, my prize possession, 54,000 miles full history decided to self destruct a apparently common crankshaft oil issue, recall in Korea and Japan, so faced with the fact my car has how committed engine suicide, my car is now in a JLR, recognised garage, I have been advised that my car will cost £13,000+ to repair, with a lot of research, I found these guys, far from Fitters they are professional mechanics, who have the ability to work on any 4x4, highly skilled and recommended. Main dealers price to swap engine was over £16k, cost they thankfully are realistic with pricing and do this to a level you won't receive in a main dealer. Kind regards Julian Appadu”
