The training and tips given are useful however of course the stress is on the fact that there is no guarantee of safety when carrying out manual handling tasks. The LITE test does not apply to my/our situation. As Saga / Titan drivers we are unable to avoid / refuse manual handling, and we are unable to request help as our clients are generally less able than ourselves. We are required to perform the given tasks (loading and unloading luggage, often up to 30kg per item) regardless of the load or environment e.g. wet / icy outdoor conditions, steep steps to and from house to vehicle etc.
