The wiper blade was good but didn't fix the problem. I needed to ask my mechanic to dismantle the whole assembly - the problem was that the wiper arm wasn't exerting enough pressure. The new blade (and even a Bosch replacement I tried) failed to clear rainwater from the area of windscreen right in front of the driver! I had to strain my neck to look around the centre portion of the wiper blade! Thankfully it's now fixed and I feel safe driving my car once again.
