I went to Eve at Velvet Pigmentation for SMP treatment to an old FUT scar that was bothering me (it’s always bothered me). Previously, I had had some tricho pigmentation done (with someone else) which had now completely faded and wanted a more permanent solution. The first thing Eve did was listen patiently to my concerns and requirements. She then explained clearly the treatment options, costs, and what I could expect from the results. She also explained that she prefers to try and achieve a natural look (rather than the harsh, straight lines you sometimes see with some SMP). Eve is very knowledgeable about the micro pigmentation process (she gives talks and presentations at industry conferences). She explained to me that things have moved on since the days of only using black pigmentation and now there are colours and tints available to use. I immediately felt at ease with Eve, she’s really friendly and down to earth. I never felt any pressure to go ahead with anything (although I quickly knew I wanted her to treat me). A week later I had my first treatment (we agreed to a course of 3 sessions) and Eve was friendly and professional and again, put me at ease. Over the course of 4 months I had 6 sessions with Eve. We’ve built up the pigmentation gradually and I have built up my confidence gradually enough to be able to cut my hair shorter and shorter. When I first went to see her, my hair was grade 3 (about 9mm) and I was still trying to keep the scar covered up with hair. But as the pigmentation increased, I went shorter. The paradoxical thing about the scar was that it was actually the contrast between hair and scar that made it more noticeable. So as I went shorter, with the pigmentation, the scar was actually less noticeable. I went to see Eve yesterday (my 6th session) and shaved my hair down to 1.5mm. Eve then added some more pigmentation into the scar and above and below the scar to diffuse it and blend it in. The results are amazing. For the first time in 15 years I actually feel like I’m in control of this scar rather than it having control over me. That final session really brought everything together. Honestly, I could write so much more about how good Eve is – she’s an artist and a professional and she really cares and goes above and beyond. I feel very grateful to have found her. A while ago, when I first started looking into SMP, I went to see HIS Hair Clinics and it frightened the life out of me and scared me away from SMP. It was in a dingy room and I was met by a ‘freelance tattoo artist’ who didn’t inspire much confidence. But I came back to the idea of SMP after having had the tricho pigmentation and then found Eve.
