"Very Happy" The HTC Review. If you read reviews you very often get the feeling that many are borne out of either great satisfaction - or dissatisfaction - very few seem to look to take a balanced or objective view . So - lets try to be objective and find a balance view and of course understand what it means . Why did we buy a hot tub :- Well , we have a disabled child within the family who needs hydrotherapy . Living in Rural Devon there is very little opportunity for this without lots of time spent travelling . So we decided that the investment in a Hot Tub would be of benefit to all including the child as the rest of the family would have a little luxury to enjoy. How did we progress :- I researched Hot Tubs for some eight months before we made our decision on what kind of Hot Tub we needed and it was based on the following criteria. a/ Quality of Product & it's specifications b/ Information available from suppliers as required ( their service & attentiveness ) c/ Price So , although the actual sum of our investment was important , the performance , Tec info and specification of the product together with the support from the supplier was perhaps more important to us . Our concerns included the best kind of insulation system , water treatment systems , make up of product , number & type of jets , ongoing running costs and the support from supplier. Having cut through the plethora of info available on the internet about Hot Tubs we arrived at a list of basic specs we believed important and added on the end a few - would likes . Although of course this list might be slightly different for some in the majority we are all looking for the same basics. 1/ A Product that fits our specs within our budget - with extra's if possible 2/ The best Quality of product we can get for our money - and it's running costs. 3/ The best availability of information & timescale & support service we could find . Outcome . I visited Hot Tub shops , manufacturers , suppliers & talked with companies here in the UK and USA about both Tubs and water treatments . Sorting the wheat from the chaff we looked at all from the new - high spec Canadian & USA imports to the seemingly some bizarre low cost 1000 + jet systems with surround sound and drink floaters :- to the used one year olds on e-bay. Quality always shines through though - " a to good to be true " will be just that long term. Product Topping our list - value for money - meeting our specs , support etc and within our budget was the Hot Tub Company - Gibraltar. Specs & Quality. The Size of Tub & seating specs were very important to us ( with a disabled child ) and Jonathan at The Hot Tub Company supplied us with detailed drawings which was a great help & their web site was full of useful info. Big Ticks - 3 pumps , 3 stage insulation , stainless steel cradle , Hydrotherapy Jets & massage system , UV & Ozone water treatment , control system , the lighting , easy keep clean cabinet and cover - a good solid quality . We opted for the hydraulic cover lifter for our ladies ease of use - which is great . Installation. An important part of the deal . Unfortunately although we booked our install date ahead our first booked date was not met . We had to rebook and with the complexity of a crane being needed to get the tub onto site - this was a bit of a pain . Fully appreciate things do sometimes go wrong , but when you've spent time and money , planning to get it right and then you're on the end of the issue and it becomes your problem it's not a great place to be. That being said - on the actual day of installation the crew telephoned as they travelled and they arrived on time . The crane was there waiting , the lift was impressive and quick and easy and - it all happened in a very short timescale. Tea & Bacon sandwiches all round - the Tub was being filled - all packaging removed off site . A very nice bunch of guys , who obviously knew 100% what they were doing - we thank you . Water Treatment. With a planned once or sometimes twice daily use by a disabled child :- we want for an ongoing low chemical water treatment scenario Tub , so the Ozone , UV - filter and pump system are all very important elements . The free Bromine kit supplied is a great starting place , but to maintain water quality it requires daily quite high dosage . Research shows that there are complimentary products available that can help maintain water quality with minimal / low dosage of chemicals - unfortunately this is not currently shown on the HTC web site - perhaps this is an area where more info could be provided. We believe that having opted for the best we could find and afford in the Gibraltar HT having also ordering an extra water filter for ease of the planned filter cleaning management , we can enjoy sit back and enjoy the tub without the worry of some lesser products. Overall . We are all in all happy customers - the Hot Tub , decking area and it's bifolding doors to allow 365 days of the year use are nearing completion . The family use the tub every day and have spent many evenings soaking the strain of the day away. Considering the significance to us of our purchase of a Hot Tub , it's important to say there was sufficient information on the website and consequently available from the HTC - to negate the need to travel 200miles + to visit them and view the tub. The confidence to buy from distance was enhanced by the ease of communication with Jonathan & we thank him for his help and support. Next step will be the service call due 2018 - so in our view The Hot Tub Company have provided a high quality product and a service to match. Thank you - Colin Crinall & The Howard Family
