I always ring around c. 10-15 local suppliers that I have used over the past twenty years each time I need oil. Then call back the best two or three and ‘negotiate’.
I discovered The Heating Oil Club after a recommendation from an oil supplier about two years ago and they have had three of the last four deliveries and usually win by a penny or more. Easy to use website and 100% reliable so far.
The Heating Oil Club works whereas all the other on line oil sites that I have tried are always more expensive than the best quote that I can find over the phone.
