with clothes im at 36" waist so went with a large which was perfect. I work in a gym and let others use the belt daily for well over a year now and it still looks brand new. bombproof construction. really firm which is what you'd want. though if you're into deep squats, olympic lifts, etc. you'd obviously want a more forgiving belt. quick release is perfect once you've just heaved out a heavy rep and you want to breath and relax its so easy to just rip the belt off.
