Item arrived broken and Lampsy have so far refused to provide a replacement or offer a refund, contravening the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO RETAILER REPLY
When item was ordered in on 15th December 2021 I was advised it was out of stock and would be back in stock within 7-10 working days. This information was false, and the item didn't end up being delivered until late February. I advised the retailer in March that it had been delivered broken with a crucial part for assembly of the product snapped in half with the other half missing.
When I requested a repair or replacement formally, as per my Consumer Rights, they refused before eventually offering a £25 refund on an £89 item. The notion that because I 'reported a damaged item more than 3 months after delivery, we can no longer accept it back.' misses the point of their legal obligations as a retailer entirely. Their version of events here also entirely contradicts the version I was provided via email, see below.
As per the Consumer Rights Act 2015, I am legally entitled to request a repair or replacement for up to 6 months after delivery. I requested this 6 weeks after delivery. It is for the retailer to take up any issues with their courier directly, as they hired them, and it should not affect my rights as a customer.
This retailer has a very disappointing grasp on their legal requirements, and I would not recommend anyone use them as a result. I will be taking this further through the appropriate channels.
