I had read reviews of the service offered by Home-Approved before requesting a survey of the house that my wife and I were seeking to buy, so I was happy to 'give-it-a-go'. When I received the report I was quite surprised as to how in-depth a report it was. There were some very good photographs showing problems with the roof tiles, chimney stack, inadequate lead flashing, inadequate cement/tile fillets, gutter blockage and other less serious items. In view of the problems highlighted, I forwarded a copy to the agent for the vendor, at the same time reducing my offer by £20,000.00. Two 'phone calls to the vendor's agent later, it was agreed that £15,000.00 should be taken off the original price. That sum of money will just about cover the quote we received for all repairwork required following the survey. Sale agreed. Expecting to exchange any day soon. Completion anticipated mid December.
