I really enjoyed the Gymboree baby sensory classes with my little boy when he was under 6 months. The classes were great and the staff were really friendly. I loved the flexibility that you could change which day you went or go several times a week which was really handy, especially with a newborn. However we ended up leaving gymboree after he moved up to the next class. This was partly because I felt the value for money wasn’t as satisfactory- the price went up which would have been fine, however the amount of classes you could go to also changed and you can only do one class a week. I had enjoyed being able to go twice a week (or more if I fancied getting out with my son), so this change really put me off. I felt the unlimited newborn classes set Gymboree apart from other baby classes in the area and I would be interested in signing up again if the other classes were also unlimited. I also found the structure of the next level (I think was Level 2?) class to be not quite as good as the newborn classes. A large part of the session involved taking the toddlers over to the foam play area or the wooden bridge and sometimes there wasn’t enough room for all the babies which could sometimes make me feel a bit awkward waiting at the edge for space to include my baby. I think the structure of these could have been improved, or maybe the class could have been split into two play areas (so less babies on the equipment) and then switched over.
