3D printer was well packaged, but the glass build plate was not.
Received a box containing a 3D printer covered in broken glass.
Dream 3D claimed, and I quote... "I’ve just spoken to Ultimaker UK about the smashed build plate. Its not something they’ve come across before actually but I guess the courier must have dropped the box upside down and smashed the glass." Despite the fact that the build plate is shipped on the bottom of the box, not the top...
When I expressed my concern that glass shards had probably made their way into the very sensitive motors / gears, I was told to not worry about it. When I asked to speak to an actual engineer, I was told they do not employ any (they are just a reseller).
They are sending me a new glass build plate, but do not want to RMA the entire 3D printer (understandably as it would cost them... 60 GBP?). Now I'm fairly worried that the printer will either not work properly when first turned on, or glass shards in the internal mechanism will dramatically shorten its life.
