The TV was delivered within two days of ordering, unpacked and powered up... but not installed, by the delivery team. Generally better service than I would have expected from one of the "big retailers", indeed experienced previously. The TV is a "grey import", exactly the same as one originally destined for the UK market, except that it has been redirected from an Eastern European country, at a much lower consumer cost, some £600~£1,000 less expensive compared to an "official" UK authorised dealer. The standard warranty is unaffected as it is provided by the manufacturer in the country of purchase, in addition to UK statutory consumer rights. District Electricals' response time was excellent, replying to email questions within hours of submission, "official" retailers took days and in a couple of cases, well over one week to respond to the same initial questions. All retailer responses were either inaccurate, non committal, automated or "call us". So, paying a lot more for a product just because the retailer is "authorised" has no perceived advantage as their staff are unable to answer simple product questions and appear to have no other inherent benefits.
