I finally decided to check prices away from what was offered at work. I had always believed that the benefits provided as a loyal employee would be the best price - how wrong I was. They covered up to 7 times my salary as a lump sum and cost me £25 a month. With confused I was able to pay the same for a 25 year cover, easily outstripping the value of the lump sum and giving me even more piece of mind. Always worth shopping around.
