Setup: Denon AVR-1907, Mission 702e floorstanding fronts, matching Mission centre and surrounds.

I wanted a matching Mission subwoofer that didn't cost the earth. I often find many theatre setups too bassy, especially when playing recent blockbuster movies. This subwoofer still has the ability to provide room-shaking bass without annoying the neighbours too much. It's easy to setup with just a single cable to the receiver. Turn the cross-over to full (the amp will control this), and set the volume to half. Then go through the automated amp setup. The amp cross-over should be set to 80.

The main speaker fires downwards. I don't know how this compares, but the sound fires out sideways and the cone is protected. It's available in black or silver. While it's great for movies, unless you've got cheapy steroe speakers, I wouldn't use it for music. Good speakers should be able to handle the bass of music.
