Sainsbury's Scotch Pancakes come with 8 in a pack and are very sweet. They are easily breakable, but they are nice and squishy.
I usually buy these and very much enjoy them, I really get quite unhappy when they run out. They taste really sweet and syrupy, they have a really beautiful texture, too. It's a very cakey, yet squishykind of texture that I really love. Sainsbury's recommend that you should try eating them with strawberrys and cream. I however, enjoy them very much when they have been toasted and with lots of melting butter on them, mmm.....delicious! These pancakes are really more for the people who have a sweet tooth, as they have a high sugar content of 6.3g per pancake. The divided circle on the front of the packaging tells me this. The sugar section is in red (bad), the salt in orange(not too bad), the fat in orange and the saturated fat in green(good!) On the back of the packaging it informs you of how to go about cooking the lovely scotch pancakes. Oven cook, grill or microwave. But really, toasting is definately the answer to a good bunch of scotch pancakes. The Ingredients are... Wheat flour, water, sugar, egg, invert sugar syrup, sunflower oil, whey powder, raising agents, disodium diphosphates, sodium carbonates, salt, preservative, potassium sorbate, acidity regulator and citric acid. Overall, a great snack to be consuming, I probably would recommend these to people, but do not eat to much! |
