Tricky to use software package!

Steinburg Cubasis VST is a music making package that allows you to create tracks that sound rather good.
You simply play in a tune on the keyboard (that is ideally plugged in to the computer) and move around the different tracks and edit them with different effects or voices.

This software is used quite a lot in schools, probably because of it's wide range of voices like: Gunshot, Soundtrack, Atmosphere or just Harpsichord. The songs that you make using this package are usually of good quality and sound funky, but it does have it's downsides.......

When you have just played a tune into your computer, it comes up on the screen as a little bar on a timeline that you can move around. You then play some chords into it and that appears as a bar too. You play the track from the start and what happens?... They are completely out of time with each other!!!

This problem occurs regularly for me, and it does take a bit of time to correct the problem, But if you have mastered the art of clicking on the record button at the right time, you're laughing.

There's also a feature that keeps time for you, like a metronome... except the noise pierces right through your ears if you don't have the volume down low!

Overall it's not too bad a software package if you get over those little hinderences. I wouldn't reccommend it to you if you don't have much patience with these type of things!

Thanks for reading!
