The Inbetweeners is a comedy program from E4. The show is about four suburban sixth-form boys struggling at a school just north of London.
The main character is Will Mackenzie(Simon Bird)who has just moved from a private school, since his mum is having financial problems because of splitting up. Being posh and geeky makes life in a public school difficult. On his first day, he comes in wearing a blazer and carrying a briefcase, which doesn't go down well with other kids of the school. He is photographed whilst trying to go to the toilet and is teased, until he makes friends with Simon, Jay and Neil. People seem to be comparing this show to Skins, but I think it's nothing like it. It's about a group of teenagers, yes, and it's aimed at the same age group, but its way funnier! This show had me in fits of laughter, I hadn't seen a program this funny in ages. Simon Bird seems to play the character of Will very well and I hope to see him in other shows. In most of the episodes you see the four boys trying to get drinks at a pub and failing! Basically, they are on a quest to get drinks and girls! Overall, I would say that it's a great comedy for people aged 16+ and I would definitely recommend it. Thanks for reading and happy viewing! |
