The Samsung NV10.

In my view on of the best looking cameras on the market! Forget your chrome and grey plastic, black is back. The Samsung Nv10 is solid in construction with a matt black aluminium body (I’ve dropped mine a few times now with no effects) and cool touches of blue around the lens barrel and power button. Looks wise it is awesome.

10.1 mega pixels, x3 optical zoom and a massive 2.5 inch screen with an innovative “smart touch interface” which not only makes the camera easy and quick to use but most importantly impresses your friends. First impressions were very favourable and it is certainly a digital camera that all will envy. Some say that 10.1 mega pixels are not required on a camera of this size but I found it means I can print out larger pictures without loosing quality and that 8x10 prints look fantastic.

This is a very versatile little unit and boasts a wealth of functions, it can record an hour of audio, TV quality video, it has both an auto and a programmable shooting function, it’s mode scenes include night, portrait, children, landscape, close up, sunset, dawn, backlight, fireworks, the list goes on, it even has a fun scene which adds cartoon backgrounds to your pictures. The pop up flash has a range of 10 feet and can be used in all modes my only complaint was that it takes a while to recharge.

I have heard complains about getting blurred pictures whilst shooting but the anti shake function takes care of this.

The NV10 is very comfortable to use, the lug for the wrist strap doubles as a thumb rest, which gives extra stability and has a sculptured handgrip at the front with a rubber insert, which adds to grip.

All in all the Nv10 offers great looks, a wealth of functions and certainly turns heads without breaking the bank, my only complaint is that it didn’t come with a case and I couldn’t find one anywhere so had to buy one from a different manufacturer.

The Samsung Digimax NV10 is a ten megapixel digital camera with a three times zoom lens and a manual exposure mode. In my tests my photos were blighted by heavy levels of noise. As much as I would like to write great things about this camera I am unable to recommend it.

If you can get past its unusual interface and sluggish performance, the Samsung NV10 is a decent digital snapshot camera with some great manual features
