The Labtec Spin 95's are entry level speakers for use with your desktop computer. Costing roughly £10 they are designed more for the typical PC user rather than a hardcore gamer or music audiophile.
The sound quailty is good for such a low price solution. Although having very little (or slightly distorted) bass the Spin 95's have a good mid range, ideal for casual games or general use such as browsing the internet or just things such as language programs or system sounds. These are not extravagant speakers but work perfectly well at lower volume levels. At higher volume levels the story is different however. Bass does become more noticable but the overall sound becomes quite tinny. High end notes seem particularly distorted when used at volumes above 50%. If music is being played it seems flat and lifeless, likely due to the absence of a subwoofer. The total output from the speakers is only 8W. The right hand speaker has a volume knob, a power switch and a headphone socket. Aesthetically the speakers look reasonably good, if a little tacky with the inclusion of the silver plastic. The speakers stand at a little over 6" high meaning they are not particularly imposing. These are ideal if you're not expecting too much from a speaker system. If you enjoy listening to music on your PC or playing games in an immersive environment it may be best to look elsewhere for a decent quality 2.1 or 5.1 set. A little extra monet goes a long way.
