the philips sa6185 is the marmite of mp3 players some people love it some people hate it but in my view i think that it is top dollar for its price , it costs less than the ipod nano but has a bigger screen and has the same ammount of memory, plus the ipod has no radio but the sa6185 does and if you do want radio for your ipod you have to buy it seperately and it costs over £10 . Some people think that the ipod screen is very good ,well they are right it is good but the sa6185 is bigger and just as good , so what it might be a coppie of the ipod but so what it is still better . i think the philips sa6185 is really good , you can not go wrong if you buy it.

No really, with 8Gb to fill you can tote quite a few of your favourite movies with you when you go. To say that the video is excellent is an understatement. The bright clear picture has vibrant colours and is a decent size too. Although the in built speakers are very small they do okay. However, when you plug in your earphones the sound really takes off. Like the sound the quality of the build is impressive (rather like a slab) and robust too.
It would have been perfect if some sort of case had been supplied - even a cheap one. Any burglar contemplating pinching this will incriminate themselves as soon as they touch it. It will have their dabs all over it in a trice. I just keep polishing mine with a cloth. I can't abide finger marks. Ipods also have this problem of showing a finger mark when it's touched. Having said that I do not find it a chore to run a cloth over it. In a way it is quite therapeutic as the SA 6185 feel nice to touch. I bought mine from Argos at half price. (Only 65 quid) What a bargain. A top quality mp3 player with an easy to use navigation system, an FM radio with presents and a movie player all in one smart item. I love mine and use it as often as my Ipod. Being chunkier than my Ipod Nano 3g I tend to use this more at home than out and about. However, it is sturdy, well made and outstrips just about every other similar player. Grab one now while they are a ridiculously low price for what you get. Jeff Lloyd
