Chess for the Digital Age

The game itself has a slightly bizarre storyline that only those with a wonderful imagination will follow. However, it is still captivating and will keep you addicted.

You are in control of a character called Atsuma whom you discover has a sort of "devil" arm that gives him immense power. So because of you, another powerful demon is released and it then becomes your job to save the world and your friend.

To describe the gameplay, the only way I feel that I can is by saying its Final Fantasy meets Pokemon. You can unlock a variety of different creatures with different skills to use in battle. Battles are played like chess games, each character can only move to particular squares and their attacks are limited to certain sqaures, so strategy plays an important part in the battle.

Downside, I don't like the dialogue. All gameplay stops and the narration is quite slow. In saying that, I still enjoyed playing the game, so if you can tolerate slow dialogue then you'll really enjoy this game.

Plus points, the graphics are spectacular and the cutscenes are amazing. If UBISOFT decide to make another RPG for the next gen consoles they have to consider speeding up the dialogue or finding another way to do it. Other than that, there are no faults with this game. Well worth having a go.
