Disney knows how to encourage children`s, and maybe especially girls`, creativity, and in this game, all little princesses are given free access to a magical world filled with beautiful colours, exquisite jewelry and cool accessories when they play dressmakers along with their favourite Disney princesses, Belle, Jasmine and Ariel.
First you pick a princess, then that princess helps you create a model whom you can dress up and adorn with all sorts of beautiful things. To find more decorative items for your model, you may follow Belle to her village (or Jasmine to her Cave of Wonders and Ariel to her Magical Undersea Hideaway, respectively) where the items are hidden in many different spots. Finding these may be a bit hard the first time and young children should probably do this with an adult present so that they are able to move along in the game. When you found all the items, you can go to a special dressing room and create just the pretty princess model you want, complete with different wigs, jewelry and dresses. You click on the item and drag it over onto the model - very simple really. If you want to, you can go back as many times as you wish to change your model, that is, her height, hairdo, skin - and eye color and so on.
Another feature which is optional is "Import your Picture." If you have a picture of yourself stored in your computer, you can import this, without leaving the game, of course, and thus make yourself a princess! Now, as I said, this is an optional feature, and that, I believe, is a good thing, because it can be very hard to find a picture that fits exactly into the model`s face. I found that most pictures are too small, but since you may very well make a nice model without importing your picture, this really isn`t a problem.
Finally you can create your own art by pasting Disney Princess figures onto different backgrounds and colour them (or keeping them in black and white for to print out and colour later on.).
In our case, this feature has proved the most popular part of the game! It makes for hours of entertainment which is not meaningless, but which encourages children to use their imagination. This game is no action -packed adventure and definitely for girls only, but I still think it deserves to be called a classic. It runs smoothly even on old computers and isn`t very expensive. So if your girls love the Disney Princesses and has a creative streak, this game is sure to put happy smiles on their faces!
