10-year Etsy seller, (Star Seller) but in the 3 last years there has been no equality between countries. I feel discriminated. Etsy accepts payments from me paying bills with credit, and debit cards but I can not use credit, and debit cards to accept payments from my customers. This is absurd. Based on an Etsy article https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/1183344188826 About 35% of Etsy buyers pay via PayPal and 75% of Esty payments. If a buyer has a Gift card, can not spend it by buying listings via PayPal.

I recently decided to dip my toes into the world of online selling and thought Etsy would be the perfect platform to showcase my unique designs with print-on-demand. Oh, how wrong I was! My journey with Etsy turned into a nightmare faster than you can say "handmade". Without any warning or explanation, Etsy decided to suspend my brand-new seller account. I had just set up shop, uploaded my first listing, and eagerly awaited my first sale. I noticed a banner on my shop saying my account was suspended and that they sent an email with details, but I received no such email. When I submitted a case to get more information, they said my account can no longer be reinstated and provided no justification as to why it was suspended in the first place. Etsy provided zero clarity on what I supposedly did wrong. It's like being punished without knowing the crime. I tried to delete my account out of frustration, but I have to pay a listing fee for something that wasn't even live. They also have my personal banking details which I can't seem to delete. Who knows what they might do with that sensitive information? It feels like I'm being held hostage by a platform that couldn't care less about its sellers. Etsy's lack of transparency and accountability is appalling. It's not just bad business practice; it's downright unethical. My advice to anyone considering selling on Etsy: proceed with extreme caution. Your hard work and livelihood could be jeopardized at the whim of an algorithm or an overzealous moderator. In conclusion, Etsy isn't just a platform for artisans; it' a platform for frustration, disappointment, and feeling utterly helpless. Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of this scam of a website. There are plenty of other, more reputable platforms out there where your talents will be appreciated, and your rights as a seller will be respected. Etsy, you've lost a potential seller (AND BUYER) for life. Shame on you.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! They will rob you, they are robots! No seller support or protection they will take your money whenever they want! Use another platform. They have stolen over 20k from me and left hundreds of buyers worried and confused - account suspended for no reason other to try and drain my bank account! (4 year seller 1800k 5 star reviews)

I wouldn’t even give you one star if I had an option I can tell you that much !!!! I had My stuff up for not even 24 hours and you guys you put a lock on my account with no email what was wrong with my account nothing . So I appeal it and then you say That I can’t have my account back There was nothing in the email why my account was suspended nothing but yet you want to charge me for listing fees that weren’t even on for 24 hours I’m gonna tell you THIS I will not buy anything from you and I will be telling everybody I know that you guys are a big joke and you do not help anybody and I know it’s sad because there’s other people that deserve to have business but when you do this to people, I’m sorry but I will never ever buy anything from you because you guys are a big fu$king joke !!!!! And you’ve lost all my business and my family and friends!!!!!

Etsy just closed my shop without any explanation or reasoning couple of months ago. Support team did not answer my follow-up messages and till date I'm not sure what was the reason for closing my shop account.

I ordered a nose ring off of Etsy and received the product, but the seller The elegant shoppe did not send me the gauge that I need it in ordered. I contacted the help button for Etsy to get involved. They told me in order to get a refund that I need to go buy a gauge to measure the nose so that I can get my money back. That is absolutely crazy to tell someone to buy a measuring gauge just to get my $13 back. I will never order from this place again.

Etsy is full of fraud and scammers. Their contradictory policies enabled a particular scam but they don't care to fix the problem. They won't refund my money, even though I follower their explicit policy, and they refuse to even make any changes to stop the same scam from continuing. Not to mention the site now flooded with cheap cr*p from overseas. Buyer beware. Avoid.

Someone hacked my seller page on Etsy, which directed me a false page ON the Etsy Help Pages platform. I did a Googell search and this had happened to other Etsy users as well. When I tried to notify Etsy by email that its site had a vulnerability that hackers/scammers were taking advantage of, I got three identical responses, all clearly AI-generated, with suggestions on how I could protect myself from fraud on Etsy -- nothing about what I had actually written about. Shame on Etsy for only providing ChatBox chat and AI dependent customer service. You can't even contact (via phone or email) Etsy's corporate offices!

I spent like $300 on etzy 3 of 5 items arrived I tried to contact the seller but the app was saying there was a error every time I click on the purchases yes I'm so disappointed I'm not gonna spend 2 days on trying to get to customer service I'll never used this app again ill keep using ebay or Amazon

I have a problem with a shop. I bought a painting and what I received was completely different from the original pictures. Looks like it was done by an 8 years old not talented kid. I contact the sellers… she agrees to refund my money but she disappeared. She has done the same with others buyers. Etsy makes very difficult to contact them. Almost impossible. Finally after many tentativas , I was able to… I think. Etsy doesn’t want to get involved. Etsy didn’t help me at all with this scammer. Please, be careful if you decide to use Etsy in the future. I certainly will. Shop at your on risk.

Paid for 3 orders with no problem,than made a few others a week later they trying to make me use PayPal or open an account by force, bad business,give customer more options. Will not shop again.

I did not understand what is wrong with the product I uploaded since I see similar items on Etsy. It also seems extreme to close my store for one item. The notifications showed me I needed to change the wording, which I did multiple times. I submitted a case for someone to please help me but instead they just closed my account. I did not receive the correct support from the Etsy team in understanding what was wrong. If someone is not understanding the internal policies, you should have a representative (real person) reach out and explain, basically make it more humane and work with the store owner. An automated general email is not enough. I am extremely sad and disappointed on the Etsy customer service for small business owners.

I set up my shop last year after 8 years in the 3rd sector, through a global pandemic, eventually sold some of my art, shipped and added tracking only to have my shop shut and my balance stolen. 3 months in and I’m still trying to get someone to reply to my endless messages on their platform. They ignore me and keep my money. Absolutely awful business.

I am a seller that just had my shop closed up two weeks ago and still in the frustration of Etsy taking control of my money and my orders in progress. I had my shop open for 6 weeks. Etsy advertised some products and my selling was doing good. I wasn't making a big profit because of all the fees associated with this. Then while I had 50 orders in progress I went online to my shop to see it has been closed. I couldn't understand why. I appealed but quickly got a reply stating I violated policies and could no longer sell or buy from Etsy again. The problem was they expect every order to be shipped by an expected day or else. Of course as my customers were getting worried about their orders being processed, Etsy started refunding one after another. I was now losing money because I already purchased the products and shipping labels. There was no action to contact my. I cannot get ahold of them. My orders are still being shipped. I just sent a tracking number to one customer and the next day she complained the tracking wasn't updated in one day. Etsy issued her a refund immediately. Now I can't count how many people are getting my products for free. This was a huge mistake and really taking a chance selling on Etsy. I filled a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. It won't get my money back but Etsy must be stopped with their tactics.

Etsy blatantly allow buyer fraud where a competitor sets themselves up as a buyer then buys a digital product says its the wrong file format and immediately leaves a one star review to knock you down a peg or two. It is dirty trading and Etsy needs to stop it. They have no remedy process other than canned response a child could write and even if you refund and cancel after the review Etsy still allow a negative review to stay which is a breach of contract as the contract between you and the buyer has been voided. Sellers need to start causing Etsy serious court court compensation payouts hurt their pockets like they do to us! Make a $20 product dispute turn into $100K costs for Etsy someone at the top will soon stop this blatant disciminatory nonsense then.

I received an incorrect chocolate bouquet from a seller in Maryland who is all about making chocolate/candy bouquets. I ordered a Reese's chocolate bouquet "explosion" and was incorrectly sent a candy "explosion". I left a 1-star review explaining the situation. Leaving a review is standard in most other industries to get things corrected. Instead, the seller got ahold of my personal email and said "I wish you had reached out before leaving us a 1-star review. We will ship a new bouquet on Monday to arrive Wednesday. If you could update your review once you receive this new bouquet, we would very much appreciate it". By the time this replacement bouquet reached my location, the occasion would have passed. Therefore, I declined. The seller was also trying to perform review manipulation, which is against Etsy policy. The seller should have refunded my money immediately but did not. I wanted to report this misbehavior. Not only was Etsy's customer service number deactivated, but I could also not start a case independent of the seller. I should be able to reach out to Etsy privately and separately instead of having to go through the seller again. Seller was petty, rude, and unprofessional. The last thing I wanted to do was reach back out to see if they refunded my order. Buyers have as much, if not more agency than sellers. Etsy fails to see that. Etsy has thousands of shop owners (which are not regulated) and you need to have a proper method of escalating issues. Making incorrect or low-quality orders right should not be in the hand of sellers who value dollars over their customers.
